Just clean the rotor really well and use a good high heat spray paint to coat the rotor. You don't really have to worry too much about paint on the swept area, as it will be removed by the front of the pad. This will leave a nice clean rotor that shouldn't rust for quite awhile.

FWIW Once you're on track that coating will become worthless anyway. My factory rotors look horrible after two days on track. The heat burns off any sort of coating pretty quickly.

One slight issue I had during/after the install was once the shims were attached to the pads and installed, it was ridiculously tight and the pad would drag to the rotors. I tried to wear out the pad, but it was keep dragging and didn't want to glaze the rotor. Ended up removing the shims and applied brake grease for now. It's so far quiet on braking. It's no big deal to buy shim set and apply once pads are worn down, or purchase thinner pad (0.65" I think. This one is 0.80" thick).
Looks like you're using the old version of the sport performance kit since this one has a directional slot pattern but the newer ones use a DBA style slotting that is non-directional. The picture looks like the front drivers side but that rotor looks to me like it belongs on the front passengers side. It's not the end of the world but maybe you want to check it out.

@Rafi@RR-racing - have you guys heard from other users of the Sport Performance kit having this issue with the pads being too thick? just wondering if this is a isolated case or a common issue but easy fix? thanks!
When I got my kit, I test fit my caliper to my rotor with the BP10 pads in it and there was a fair bit of wriggle room without the shims, fitting the shims shouldn't be a problem. I'll know for sure when I put the kit on my car in a few weeks.

One cannot determine the proper direction of rotation by looking at the slots on the face of the rotor. Direction of rotation is determined by the vanes inside the rotor, and how they would most effectively evacuate the air from the hub area.

Rotors' vanes are straight, so slot directions don't matter in this case.

@Rafi@RR-racing comments?

EDIT:

Im not seeing this issue here:

On the newer design rotors we are extending the paint zone. This provides a measure of protection for a limited period of time.

As you guys know, whether you use e-coating or zinc, it all comes off once your brakes get really hot. If you track your car, it will probably come off in one day. If you use your car only on the street, it will last a while, but eventually will come off, depending on how much water/corrosion/heat your rotors are exposed to.

Alright, my brake squeel is coming from the driver side front and can be felt in the pedal. What should I be looking for to diagnose this?

Any signs of grooving on the rotor? Could just be the pads needing to be bedded in HARD.
