I’m so glad my BRZ tS carries totally not embarrassing to the general populace “STI” emblems instead.

Neither, it's really a medical term for; Treatment Resistant Diarrhea.
(However, 99% of the public may think it applies to the car too.)

I seen one yesterday in person at the Toyota dealer down the road from me. I have to say I was a bit bummed out on some of the design choices.

Things I liked:
Push to start/Dual climate control like a BRZ - Has a higher end feel to it
TRD suede covering for the dash section - I want this in my car like yesterday, way better then the fake carbon fiber dash.
Tires/wheels - The tires were sticky Michelin Pilot Sport's and the rims looked neat

Things I think could be better:

Brembo brakes - Why not TRD branded big brakes?
Steering wheel - had buttons galore, does nothing for me except to distract. I just want a suede wheel with a red line at the top...
Price - The thing cost 38k, I get that it is a limited edition but that is a bit much for a normally 29k car.
Performance - They could have done something here instead of play engine dress up. I mean for 38k throw a performance intake on and header to smooth out the power band at 3-4k range.

People have been asking for performance upgrades for these cars since day one. Toyota isn't going to be changing anything related to power or the power band until the next gen of these cars, if there is one. Honestly at least the TRD version it comes with Michelin Pilot Sports which is a lot more than I can say for other limited editions. Those tires are pretty good.

The price on these limited editions also vary quite a bit when you're negotiating, depending on how good are at talking and how much the dealer wants to sell it. A friend of mine got the Series.Yellow limited edition BRZ PP package, normally 3-4k more than the standard BRZ PP package, for only a little over 1k more.

At the price they are asking for the TRD I'll just put some TRD badges on my 86 and call it a day. Each TRD badge adds 5hp you know.
