Mercedes lost that race, not George. He got in that car and drove like Lewis. I think a lot of people were expecting an Albon type drive from George. I KNEW that wasnt going to be the case. I was so excited to see this race. And when EVERYTHING fell apart at the end, I almost cried. This was really important and for Mercedes to mess up this badly is so sad to see.

Mercedes completely screwing their race so their last year's car can win. I'm really happy for Perez getting his maiden win, but Tracing Point can suck a fat one

And who da fudge pooped in your porridge? There was no conspiracy and it is not a clone of last years car!

Racing Point does get lots of mechanical components from Mercedes but this is still its own car. It is clearly not a copy.

The situation is not massively different to the relationship Haas has with Ferrari and AlphaTauri has with Red Bull.

There are a lot more articles and videos that prove you wrong if you care to search.

Except the fact that their rear brake ducts were found to be a direct copy of the 2019 Mercedes rear brake ducts and they were deducted 15 constructor points for that. For some reason though, the FIA allowed them to run the illegal brake ducts for the rest of the season, thus Tracing Point have been racing all year with an illegal car.

I hope Hamilton fully recovers and all that, but please can we have more races without him?

That was quite the emotional race for all.

HAM hopes to be back for qualifying.

NO! They were not!! Geezus man do some friggin’ research before you start typing. The rear brake ducts used during the racing season were designed and built in house by Racing Point. (see photos below) They were based on CAD files Racing Point received in 2018 when brake ducts were not a “listed part”. So, that’s why they look similar. However, the actual sizes and shapes and the number of vanes are different. RP lost constructor points and paid a fine because the ducts “flow design” were based on those 2018 Mercedes CAD files. Not flow tests they did themselves. It was not clear in the Technical Regs so RP were charged under the Sporting Regs. Both of which were to be reviewed and amended to clear up this and other issues that might arise in the future.
It wasn’t “for some reason” that Racing Point was allowed to continue. It was the fact that the FIA did not expected RP to “unlearn” what they knew or withdrawn until they came up with a new duct. That means the FIA deemed the car “legal”. Therefore, all the other team’s protests were dropped and no new complaints have been made since.

Also, a brake duct does not equal a whole car.

We were blessed with this crazy race by more than just HAM being absent.
Max & Charlie getting wiped out on the first lap helped as well as they were possibly the next in the parade line for podiums. (well Max for shure) The Pink & Yellows got their stuff together at this opportunity.

Seb still getting defeated by his own team whenever he has to box…

Should get news by Thursday for HAM.

Merc had a radio issue that messed the Tire change.

---
Story time:

This kind of radio issue reminded me of the summer 2008 I was working support for a 2 bit Interact/CC co that somehow got the contract for the souvenir shops on site. Our tests on Thursday were excellent using WIFI. Friday am before F1 cars got on the track all was good, but as soon as the F1 cars fired up all the WIFI & Cell infrastructure crashed (Taxi radio’s would not work on site either). The owner of my shop was on a conference call with Bernie, cell providers landline providers and our CRTC (Radio/TV regulators) all night to find a solution. Bernie backed down in the early morning and had the frequency changed, power lowered and all was good after that!
I quit 3 weeks later as the job overtime was cutting into my cycling time; they went Belly up the next year…

My bad. Here are the rears. Racing Point uses larger openings then the Mercedes but you can see the similarity in flow design.
