It's a bit of both.

i always combat park in the garage! but when i was a kid, my parents just called it 'parking'...

it helped that the way their garage is situated off to the side, vehicles can't be pulled straight into the garage. the turning circle is needed while backing up to make the angles.

it has made life more interesting though, as it taught me to parallel park better, as well as comfortably back up at speeds over 10mph...

Driving through a farm area yesterday when all of a sudden a cob of corn hit my windshield.
No farm equipment, vehicles or people anywhere in sight.
Corn cob literally came out of nowhere.
Jumped out of my seat and squealed like a little girl but did not crash.
Was close though.

You got any really big crows in the area? Maybe they were taking home some for the family...

That was my conclusion as well. Didn't see one but it could have been long gone by the time I recovered my composure.

I "drove" my other horizontally opposed 4 cylinder engine vehicle for the first time yesterday for the insurance check-ride.

Did not crash.....

What a beautiful little back road. Glad you both parted ways safely.
