"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"... 2 weeks without driving my BRZ

Well, I got to tell ya, that quote has never rang more true for me. I just go back from vacationing for 2 weeks in the lower 48 where I spent most of my time driving either a F-350 dualy, Minivans, and my mom's Jeep Liberty. I got home and drove my brz on the way to work, and it felt like a beast! I forgot how this thing likes to rev! and how fun it is driving a 'light' car! I missed my car and I think she missed me too...

If you ever think you are getting bored with your 86, go drive something big, heavy and slow for a week or two...

I felt the same way after driving our 31 foot motorhome for a week. I was so happy to get back into my BRZ

I often travel for work, weeks at a time with some boring rental car; I know the feels.

We have an 06 Durango and when I have to use it for even just a full day getting back into my car is like a little party in my brain My car was just in the shop for 8 days for some warranty work and they gave me a brand new Forester which wasn't too bad for the first day, the second I found all of its faults and after that it was just depressing to walk out to the driveway and see it. When I picked up my car I almost pulled a Mustang at Cars and Coffee move and spun it out of the parking lot because my brain was laughing as I let the clutch out

On an unrelated note, whoever coined that phrase never dated my ex.

Funny you feel this way. How many months a year can you drive BRZ in Alaska? Don't you always experience 4-5 months kissbye with the car?

I spent 4 months without touching the BRZ over the winter (due to harsh Indiana roads and conditions). I drove a big heavy truck instead. The first day that I drove the BRZ I turned into work parking lot too quickly and curbed both my right side wheels.... The steering response is just in a different world to the truck.

I keep the wheels as a constant reminder that you can always be more careful. I remember asking in local forums how it was possible for folks to obtain curb rash... I couldn't imagine getting car wheels close to any physically challenging objects. I was quickly proven wrong.

no sir... my BRZ is my daily! I have snow tires with a little extra bias, that gets me an extra inch of ground clearance. and I'm in the process of getting a second set of 2017 dampers to slap a 1" lift on it. She'll do just fine 85% of the time. If its that bad I'll just drive the wife's Outback and drop her and the boy off on my way. We don't salt roads up here so I don't have to worry about that...

Psh, tell me about it. I've had 3 dealer loaners in the past 4 months. The Forester I'm driving now I've had for 4 weeks and racked up 2,800 miles and counting.

A myriad of engine issues. Cam sensor, cam sprocket, ECU, short block (spun bearing), and now it's getting a new front timing cover.

I seemed to have hit all of the early-2013 bugs soon as I hit 60k miles.

Where are you going with your loaner? Is your BRZ modded?
