The easiest 'road' to comfort is tire suspension. Lotsa sidewall... Stock suspension was (mostly?) developed on 16" wheels... Sorry can't help pointing that out, and I'm thinking of all the poor souls getting 18" and 19" and cheap coilovers and then being all surprised it ain't so comfortable on a nightmare road... (edit: now see stock wheels on your avatar. I also found them unusually harsh in their ride with no apparent benefit in road holding, hence my wheel choice....)

Another way is to add a lot of soft bushings and a lot of weight... Yep wrong car...

Good thread topic btw.
Yea my 16kg/mm sprung TEIN SRC actually feel a little rough with the track setting. I actually have to back down maybe 1-2 clicks to make it nice. LOL

The valving is quite refined. Still the fastest coilover setup for the price.

This may seem counterintuitive, but you might consider rear subframe bushing inserts to help pull everything together. In my experience--with adjustable Konis and relatively soft springs--the inserts helped to smooth out performance and unify rear-end dynamics. The performance of the dampers is, well, enhanced, since the car does not seem to be moving in several directions with each bump. Is it more "comfortable"? Hard to say. But, I do consider the car to be smoother now.

Here in the east, we have some real crappy streets and no rush to fix winter's devastation.

Inserts are relatively cheap, easily installed and easily removed.

One guy's experience . . .

Then ya got yer Penske, which I believe @CSG Mike said you can setup to ride like a Lexus and handle like a Porsche...

What about your experiences with wheel width and offset?
Due to legal regulations 8 inch with 35mm offset or 8,5 with higher offset (45/48 somewhat) is maximum in Germany and people already talk about the influence to the steering by changing, yeah... German word is Lenkrollradius... The axis where steering would meet center of your tire right on street surface.
Lower offset would cause higher impact on the suspension, more tricky running after deep lines in the asphalt and so on.

How do you think about that when you can run even more extreme wheels and camber? Any experiences compared to bone stock OEM?

I like this idea. Smaller rims, higher profile tyres.

Didn't the '14 year model get upgraded with Sachs dampers, assuming with better (more compliant) damping curves? Maybe you can score a used low milage set off a MY14 owner upgrading their suspension.

Yep. Basically, smaller lighter car works better with smaller, lighter wheels, all things considered...
In the US it seems at least Honda people have understood that...

Fill the trunk with bags of concrete to simulate the weight of a rear-engined car?
