How does the dampening quality compare to say the ST coilovers or KW var 1? If I wanted to upgrade to Swift springs with higher rates later on is that a possibility?

Socket + locking pliers(vise grips) + allen key of allen key socket do the the trick as well. If you're budget concision you can get all those tools cheap at Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

IMO the Bilstein will lend itself better to bigger bumps while the KW, ST, or our RCE T0 will be smoother on smaller bumps. That's generally the case with a good monotube vs. a good twintube. It's going to be good ride quality either way. - Andy |

Just contacted Bilstein directly and got some spring rate info. Springs are sourced from Eibach and have a 2.5" diameter. Length is unknown. Same spring rates for both the B14 and B16 kits.
Front: 257 lbs/inches = 4.59 kg/mm Rear: 378 lbs/inches = 6.75 kg/mm |

Springs are also progressive, not linear.
After a few days of driving, I'm very pleased with the kit. Ride quality is better than I expected. Early reports stated that you will feel more imperfections of the road, which I found to be true. However, the bumps are definitely less jarring than they were on the stock suspension. Car stability is also improved. Great value for the money, IMO. Bilstein is also a great brand to invest in for ease and availablity of service and rebuilding once you grow out of the stock settings. |

They LOOK like a linear spring with a bit of a "helper" section that likely compresses out with the weight of the car. This is done to get more droop travel. This seems to be the case when there are the plastic overwraps on a couple coils anyway.
I wish you could get 2.25"/60mm springs like this for coilovers so you don't have to deal with the spring adapters and buying 2 springs per corner. Being able to buy an 8" "helper/linear" spring that acted just like a 6" linear + helper would be perfect for so many applications. If you don't have to assemble the strut again with preload, an easy way to do this is simply remove the top nut while the car is still on the ground then just jack the car up to remove the load from the springs. If the springs going back on require preload that can't be done with just your body weight, good luck getting it back together without the right tools though. |

These PSS coilovers are an excellent investment into your car. I bought a set of these for my S2000 early in my ownership. As I got more into tracking and time attack, I decided I wanted something more aggressive. I was able to pull the shocks off and send them down to Ramon @ theBilstein service center in SoCal for a revalve to a much more aggressive set of Swift springs. Great thing is, I ended up paying less for the revalve than I would to revalve a set of Koni's or most other shocks.
My suspension feels top notch and makes me highly competitive against local track competition. Highly recommend! |

The specs says it lowers 30-50mm, does that mean even at it's highest possible setting it's still 30mm lower than stock??

Will these work with other springs? I'm running wide wheels and narrow springs that coilovers usually come with are needed to clear without rubbing.
