No, it's good for launching in reverse.

I was running a slight chassis rake for a bit, mostly for the aero benefits listed above, and the slight aesthetic benefits 😉. Got rid of it though, cause it was causing the front of the car to be just low enough that I was scrapping more then I liked coming in and out of some driveways. Car isn't crazy lowered either, maybe a hair over 1" from stock.

Oh and I'm running a square tire setup.

Rake can also be used to alter suspension geometry in a way to reduce understeer. That can be a benefit if done right. It should still be kept fairly subtle though.

I don't recommend different size tires front vs rear for most people.

As a follow up, if you were to prepare a car that had some rake, (say a spirited DD or something,) how much of a differential in height would you use? a couple mm at most I'd imagine, (3 or so?)

If we're keeping it theoretical, the roll axes on the Lotus Elise were set up such that having a positive rake of 5mm [front 5mm lower than rear] gave the best overall balance; roll center axis and aerodynamic effect with its flat floor.

Looks like a little rake on these:

As long as you don't go nuts it should look OK.
Mind you I come from a generation that did this to our street cars:

That's about the difference I have on my Forester XT, it helped keep things from touching on launch at autox and kept the rear gripping and the COG down.

I think that top picture is along the lines I'm looking for, with the height of the release series below. Not looking to go much lower than stock.
