2017+ OEM Spoiler 3M Only?

Anyone know if you can mount the 2017+ OEM Spoiler with 3M Only? Don't want to really drill into my trunk at the moment.

This of course includes prepping it by cleaning the surface with alcohol and using adhesion promoter.

On my research many people do this to other cars with spoilers/lips but I think since this has "3" contact points to the trunk it might be a bit different.

I think if shark fin antenna's, canards, and roof vortex generators can survive those speeds using double sided tape only then this low spoiler/wing can.

I think it depends on how much the person behind you will care about it hitting their car and how bad of an accident you cause and how much you get sued for and what you get charged with on how well it will stick.

Personally, I would not risk it.

If your primary concern is avoiding drilling holes into your trunk, I suggest purchasing a "duck tail" style spoiler. There are many many options.

There are also a few individuals I've seen who would like to trade their 17+ spoiler equipped trunks for a non-spoiler trunk because they want to mount an aftermarket wing and do not want to deal with the holes.

Related to the three contact points: The left and right mounting points have two bolts each. The middle contact point is actually just a plastic nub that supports the middle of the wing, and is not actually attached to the trunk.

Thanks for an intelligent answer. I'm going to look to see about drilling then.

yep, just not enough surface contact area for a few small pillars. the '13-16 oem spoiler would be fine with just tape, or as thunder said, a ducktail.

honestly, real 3m tape is awesome stuff, and it probably would hold. but i feel like it's tempting fate.

i've had one of these on my truck with 3m tape since last spring, and it's lasted through the entire winter and snow-brushings. but it's $5, so i don't mind loosing it if it were to fall off.
