Cheaper upgraded motor mount options??
Hi just wondering if there are any cheaper upgraded motor mount options? I don't wish to pay $300-400cad for mounts. Are there any OEM upgrade options like out of a 2015+ WRX or STI? Can the factory mounts be filled with window weld?
I was looking and it seems like 2015 WRX engine mounts are a fit, but the part number on Rockauto is the same as an FRS so it doesn't look like it'll be much of an upgrade. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk |

Solid mounts, $100 bucks! Mounts are a do it once, do it right kind of upgrade. Why do you want to upgrade the motor mounts of all things? I'd highly recommend spending the money to get good mounts- the NVH people talk about isn't just some thing that's really easy to live with, it can be bad enough to make your hands go numb from holding the steering wheel. If you're running a tune from someone, the tune can also affect how poorly the car runs- on/off throttle bucking can be aggressive timing swings or bad fueling. I'll be frank- my car felt like crap, I hated how it felt during on/off throttle transition. During my car's downtime, I bought an STI transmission mount, torque solutions motor mounts, a carbon fiber driveshaft, all new suspension, sti top hats for the struts, subframe bushings inserts, and the outrigger diff bushings. I hate drivetrain slop so much, I understand where you're at. I put solid transmission mounts on my car and it helped a lot, but solid mounts aren't good for a daily. Try what I suggested initially and report back when my car runs again, I'll be able to say if my $2,000 anti-slop project worked. I can only rest easy knowing that it will be better than a solid transmission mount. I will admit though, the solid transmission mount got rid of 70% of my gripes Here's my comparison- |

OP. Just be careful, you can go too far and make for one uncomfortable ride in a DD. Ask me how I know on an 04 WRX. If it’s for track, well have at it.

You say you want to upgrade but want to spend less than OEM mounts?

I have used the Megan racing engine mounts for my car for years and been very pleased. They are still rubber but much stiffer than stock and they removed a ton of slop without causing too much nvh for daily driving.

my mounts on my 2014 are bad. I'm looking to get new ones, but I don't want any NVH so Cusco and Perrin are out for me. I was told if you have mods you shouldn't get oem mounts. Looking at the Megan racing as I like the price and a poster above said he got minimal NVH, but I'm not sure Megan doesnt have the best reputation. I wanted the STI, but they seem to be sold out everywhere. Can anyone recommend me some mounts? what about Torque Solution? is that a quality brand? Thanks!
