Just lifted the hold at Port and will be arriving at the dealership later next week.
Oh, we have dealerships that will sell at MSRP too... they just load up the car with $6000 of worthless junk (KARR alarm, catalytic converter etching, various dubious chemical treatments for interior/exterior...)

If you are really lucky, you can go to a dealer that does both (mark ups and forced add ons).

I had a deposit down on a Pavement Premium MT that was supposed to arrive end of February. It got held up in QA inspections, and due to transport backlogs at the port, my ETA was moved to April 1-11. Yesterday I noticed a Neptune 2.0 allocation on the Google docs spreadsheet. I called my sales guy and scored it. It arrives mid May. It has the performance package, stabilizer bars, sub-woofer, and dimming mirror. Hopefully I like those Sachs dampers.

And now, I wait some more.

Holy crap man, congrats. That will likely be the true unicorn spec For 24 and 25.

I am officially eating crow... and joining the Panda club!

After weeks of searching and calling dealerships, using the online allocation spreadsheet I was able to find a dealer that will sell a Trueno edition at MSRP and no forced add-ons. The car has a few port installed options that I would not have ideally chosen, but I put down the deposit and it is mine! I only have to rent a car (one way, of course) and drive about 150 miles to pick it up.

All the local dealers wanted between $4K and $6K over MSRP; I think it is worth the car rental and drive to stand by my principles.

Now I just have to deal with all the spam and phone calls from all the dealerships I contacted...

Honestly when it started dawning on me that getting the GR86 I wanted was going to require casting a wide net, this was one of the main things that gave me pause. A torrent of automatic emails, texts. Bad news.

Set up a separate email account just for dealing with the purchase.

That's an excellent idea haha

In the end it wasn't too bad. I mostly contacted dealers by phone so that probably helped a lot. And I'm pretty sure 2 of the first 3 dealers I dealt with were among the worst of the worst with spam, so they skewed my expectations.

Yep. I do this all the time. I used to use junkmailnnn@ as an email address for these purposes particularly when doing stuff online. Then I'd just drop it when I no longer needed it.

Now I get a little more creative and use the company name in the first part of the address so I know where the crap is coming from.

Once your business is done, just go to the bottom of the email and click "Unsubscribe."

New Gmail requirements are going to require an "Unsubscribe" in the email title so you can unsubscribe without even having to open the email.

I’ve been looking for a Halo Trueno allocation around Montreal with no luck. Has anyone had any luck with getting one or having their Trueno delivered?

Consider a cheap plane trip or a one-way car rental... I could not get mine locally unless I wanted to spend at least $4K over MSRP....

Agreed-no one should need to pay over MSRP for Trueno. They are around for MSRP, but indeed might require taking a trip. I will drive 300 miles from NJ to NH to get mine.

What nextcar said, I've had one car delivered from FL to OK, done 2 fly and drives, and two drive and drives (trading in the existing car for a different one).
