Simple for me. Although I wish the gray were not metallic, I'll live with it.

So I sat in the new C8 today...

It is even better in person!

If it were not for the fact that I am too tall for it, I would definitely buy one.

Looks like I just saved myself $75K!

Why does it seem like everything about the C8 is moving really fast. Announced one week, gets spotted few days later, then people already be sitting in it...

Meanwhile over at Toyota, "Hey we got a Supra, but you won't see it for like 10 years"..

It's heavier than I was expecting (~3500-3600 lbs wet), but it should still revolutionize the mid-engine segment at this price.

Doesn't match the looks of other mid-engine supercars (Huracan/Aventador, 488, NSX, etc.) but it's $100k+ cheaper than those cars.

Will consider picking one up down the road.

The car is very impressive in person... So much so that when they actually start showing up in dealerships I will investigate alternate seats/possible 3rd party solutions. But for now I don't have my hopes up.

This is a promotional pre-production tour car that is only at Bob Stall Chevrolet in San Diego today and tomorrow.

General consensus is that if you fit in a C7 you will fit in a C8... I never tried sitting in a C7 though - the C8 is the first Corvette to interest me.

Good luck - these cars are going to be very, very popular... I am sure there will be some teething pains too - but who am I to talk after just getting the J02 recall done???

Did they have any input on depth differences between the GT1, GT2 or Sport seats?

At 5’10” and 150 lbs, I fit in everything. The BRZ is the first car be ever had the seat reasonably far back.

I’ll be in one of these when the price hype calms down a bit. Sad to see the “performance textile” only ones with Sport seats, I’ve never been a huge leather guy.

Looking at the C8 engine bay pictures, you guys thinking the maintenance costs are going to be way more expensive than on a C7? Not a whole lot of access in there. Would hate to have to drop the engine for routine servicing. Labor costs will add up quick.

You mean like $600 spark plug jobs?

There are guys here with over 150k on stock plugs. Not saying it is good, but intervals are usually conservative. The interval is 60k miles. I'm sure $600 spark plug jobs once every four to five years for a $75k OTD car is not really an issue.

the back is dull. It looks good otherwise.

I hope to get one as well.

For some reason I see it being easier. Looks like a lot of available room with access from the bottom. Cam swap might be fun though....

I can only speak from other "LS" platforms but GM generally lays things out pretty well.....except those back spark plugs under the cowl on the 4th gen Fbody, lol.

I saw a truck load of what were obviously Corvettes (due to the shape) the other day, but my novice enthusiast eyes couldn't ascertain whether or not they were C8s under the white shipping plastic. All I could see was the checkered flag badge and a vaguely Corvette shape.
