That's an option. Only thing is I have heard they are even worse than the RS3 in any kind of water or wet road. I also don't like how you can only buy them from Tire Rack who are usually more expensive; I prefer buying from DTD.

Here's my concern for driving on them to and from events if there is any rain:

Yeah the black in the gt86 got more positive attention than my silver one. The black looks more rich to me as well. Subjective I know. I'm having a blast with the 88 conquest cause that's all I got for now.
Up here in Alaska people are still a bit old school and still consider black to be a sign of higher class. People think my car is easily mid-$30k. My car gets finger points and stares ALL the time. I came up to a stop sign in a neighborhood on Saturday and this kid was in their living room directly in front of me. Their mouth dropped and they excitedly gestured for the other kids to come to the window quick. hahaha It was cute.

I think I like black because you have to do a few takes to really appreciate how the car looks. The imagination is a powerful tool. I think once people have made the investment to actually study the lines and contour of the car, they're hooked. With more revealing colors people rest on their assumptions of how they think the car look initially.

That's my theory on it.

What did he think about racing you? Worthy opponent car?

It'll be cool if even the Porsche drivers (who arguably have the much better performing cars, hands down) think the twins are a force to be reckoned with when handled correctly.

We chatted at the end of the day about that session and we both had good spirits about everything. The Cayman S was not his car so once he started feeling it getting twitchy he wasn't going to continue trying to out pace me once I caught up. I thanked him for the fun challenge and the point by.

The dark blue Cayman S (with 3.8 swap) driver also found my video on YouTube and commented,
Quote:
You really picked it up when you smelled Cayman blood! And caught up to Tiffany in the blue/red Boxster too.
I think the car definitely earns some respect each time it's out on track with the thoroughbreds, but like you said there's no denying that with a highly skilled driver in a Cayman S or 911 choosing to drive 9 or 10/10ths that it would be no contest in favor of the Porsche. I just get lucky sometimes and it makes for entertaining GoPro footage. All in good fun. Far from racing.

Glad you brought that up. It is high performance driving, not racing. I have personally witnessed the dangerous nature of the RS-3 in the wet, and I would never run them on my daily driven car.

I haven't been driving the BRZ too often since the week of Christmas. Got a new daily. 2013 VW Tiguan S with a pano sunroof and leather wrapped wheel. I had an APR stage 1 tuned 2011 Tiguan before my BRZ. It was good fun lighting up the 215's up front with 250hp and 300lb/ft but I traded it in because sports car. I'm glad to have another Tig because I love the 2.0T and it's a great car to scoot around town and run errands with. Nice midrange torque even at stock boost levels where I plan on keeping this one.

It blew me away the other day when my girlfriend and I fit two full size dressers, a king size bed frame, a 6 foot mirror, and a big comfy office chair in it and the hatch even closed snug! Everything was from Ikea, of course, so hat tip to those crazy Swedes for being ridiculously efficient

In the meantime the BRZ is getting some new consumables including new rotors, Project Mu Club Racer pads, and a Motive Power Bleeder with the adapter for our fluid reservoir.

More goodies on the way as this season's track prep continues!

She's willing but it's much easier and less time consuming to power bleed solo.

I also don't fully trust speed bleeders though failures are very rare, they do occur...

I don't fully trust power bleeders. I still prefer the ole two person, and I have never used speed bleeders. I normally have one of my buddies or my Mom come over to pump the brakes when I am doing my pre-race prep on the SpecE30, haha.

We use those motive pumps plenty...the trick is to not bother with filling the bleeder container; just use it to pressurize the reservoir. It is easier to fill up the reservoir a bit more often rather than having to clean the motive container!

I'm thinking of picking up a set of HC+ 800 pads (and fluid) before April and my trip to the Dragon.

Let me know what you think of the club racers!

What made you go with centric rotors?

I've been tracking with the Club Racers for a few months now. I reviewed them a few posts up.

Centrics are $100 a pair and have a coated finish to prevent corrosion. Don't care for slotted or drilled. I prefer blanks since they offer the most surface area for pad contact.

I had my Motive bleeder leftover from my previous Z, and even though the adaptor is the same for both cars (1107), I had issues getting my reservoir to seal properly with the adaptor. Let me know if you seem to have any issues with yours.
