When I was working at a Porsche dealership I was told by a mechanic that the differential could be fitted upside down or flipped or some such. This would give you 5 reverse gears and one forward gear. Obviously there needs to be a kit to fit this diff into our cars.

I think the front facing exhaust is slowing me down as well. My cooling fans are running more often too.

On a side note, can we convince the admin to make a reverse burnout emoji in honor of this thread?

@ichitaka05 can you make it happen?
Hm... that’s a tough question. Only Hachi & FT-HS know the answer

I used to take the newspaper delivery wagon (Mazda 1300 2nd gen) out into the forests to play rally driver. My father never understood where all the dings came from. On the dirt roads I used reverse at max speed, flick the steering wheel and while the front was sliding around put into 1st gear and drive off. I used to think it was way cool. I appreciate it is nothing now in the age of YouTube but I discovered this by myself.

I had a friend in the car and we were leaving his place but he forgot something. I thought it would be an appropriate place to do this reverse spin go forward trick. The road was damp so I gave it no thought. Slight down hill gradient, max reverse speed, spin the steering wheel, front wheel hits dry road, digs right in, car ends up on side on nature strip. Friend and I thought it kinda funny but not really.

I had a really hard time trying to explain to my father how I managed to roll the delivery wagon just by reversing.

One of the guys at the motorcycle shop I used to work totaled his truck doing this. One of our large customers had a huge property where he had a private MX track and we could ride it whenever we wanted. He did this in the driveway in an early 2000's Frontier, this was around 05'. Lucky he didn't have his bikes in the back too. Truck was completely eff'd.

In my quad riding days I had a Polaris Scrambler that had a CVT transmission. Great for racing not so much for technical trails as there was no engine braking.

Anyway, there was a reverse overide switch on the handlebars. If you held that button in, the Polaris would go as fast in reverse as it would in drive (a little better than 60 MPH).
