Maybe your technique is off. Could be a couple things. Do you use the mirrors/rear-view camera or do you turn your body and put your hand on the back of the passenger seat? What are your times with each style?

Now you just have to try again in a RHD and your neck will be good as new. Then invest in a backup camera.
