People are typically pretty cool at events. I notice you're in California (I'm from California originally and know a lot of the venues and organizations there). If you ask, people are normally pretty willing to lend a hand. Just find somebody who knows what they're talking about and ask them to ride with you or if you can ride with them. Pick their brain. Go drive. Have fun.

Has anyone had issues with running 18" wheels up front and 17" in the rear? I was digging around and read something about the car going in to limp mode from this setup, but I was wondering if any of you could confirm.

I have my "street" wheels which are 18x9.5 Enkeis with 265/35R18 tires. I also have 2 sets of OEM wheels and another set of 17x8 Enkeis. I'm hoping I can mix and match without having any issues.

I've seen 215/40r18 and 225/40r18 be used up front while using 215/45r17s in the rear with no issues.

265s are a big tire to have up front for drifting though...

Haha true. Typically I would not be using the 265s in front. I just wanted to make sure it's doable without damaging the car in any way. Thanks for the input.

Angle kits

What options are out there for increasing steering angle? And specially, which ones don't require you to stick your wheels out (i.e. needing fenders or rocket bunny kit to keep the tires under the body)

Thank you!!

.
It's not 17's and 18's that put the car into limp mode, it's the difference in overall tire diameter.

I can confirm that a 25.4 inch front tire diameter, and a 23.6 inch rear tire diameter will indeed put the car into limp mode, once driving straight over 50 MPH for about a mile.

However, I can also say, that the car ran fine, not even tripping the CEL in competition, 0-56 MPH, 6 autocross runs back to back, no issues. Two miles down the road driving away in a straight line the computer caught up, CEL on (for wheel speed sensor), then limp mode. Had to drive to autozone to have them reset it, and change the rear tires to match the front.

HELPPP PLEASE

I recently added inner tie rods for increased steering angle and the car is dropped about 1.5'' in the front.. the bottom of the front sway bar end link and the front lower control arm come very close to one another now and i believe are responsible for a clicking sound in the driver front wheel well i get when the car is turning left and going over a bump simultaneously...
how do i fix this lack of space problem? adjustable sway bar end links or is there another part that I can add to create more space?
or is my only option to raise the car bak up a little? (i have been trying to do so but the coils were bought used and are pretty stuck, ive been watering them with pb blaster for a week.. moving onto kroil)
Thanks in advance!

Hey i recently posted a thread about inner tie rods somewhere on here

I just added inner tie rods from megan and they worked great
the drift in our cars wants to settle pretty close to full lock out countersteer which makes for a very small margin of error and very little fun bc she constantly spins out
these inner tie rods fixed that problem and also made parallel parking way easier cus she carves so good lol
hope this helped! just a warning u will need some spacers to prevent rubbing on the inner wheel well and sway bar unless u have wheels with a different offset that keeps them away from the inside
i just ordered by 25mm spacers and will b updating the other thread once they're on so stay tuned i guess lol
other than that u can get the powered by max steering angle kit which replaces a lot of the front suspension parts but that kit is $$$

Can you post pics of your wheels at full lock? I've been looking at the Powered By Max steering angle kit but if Megan rack ends provide the same results then I'll just get those. I can't find pics of the Megan parts in action anywhere.
