The worst part is it's our two week planning, but since I'll be on-call next week, I can't do regular tasks we're planning for anyway and then the 2nd week I'll be on vacation!

None of this is applicable to me!!
Do you even agile bro!?

Agile with a capital A is fine if you use it properly. The problem occurs when people (especially Management or BD), start thinking that it is agile with a lower case a.

I don't really follow. There are 4 kinds of "sprint meetings". Planning, Scrum, Review, Retrospective. Is it a combination of all of them? Because that sucks.

Sort of, yeah. It's a shitty variation.

Every other Thursday we have our "Retro" in the morning for an hour, then lunch time, then "Story writing" -> "Backlog grooming" -> "Planning".

Story writing used to be another meeting. Technically they're all separate, but usually for us the grooming phase runs two hours and winds up combining with planning, which can run anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Today backlog grooming ran probably 2.5ish hours and then planning was an additional hour on top of that.

No breaks.

Agile... Harrumph! Just another bullshit contrivance in an attempt to get people to do the most important, least sexy part of the job, the due diligence. No one wants to be saddled with precisely defining the requirements before setting out to fulfill them.

Finding parking spots is a bitch, I need twice the space to merge with traffic or change lanes, maneuvering in tight spots is entertaining and I am paying twice as much for fuel to move a big heavy empty vehicle around. That is NOT practical by any definition. Hell, for me my Geo Metro was the most practical thing I could own.
