I'm not a fan of the nonfunctional vents on my BRZ. The TRD front fender aero fins are supposed to improve straight line and cornering stability. I am considering replacing the vents with the fins. Please share pictures of your official carbon fiber fins or official colored fins. http://www.trdparts.jp/english/86_pe...line/aero.html

Well they are for redirecting air over the side mirrors for a little less drag, but not really for any type of additional downforce. Think of them as an air deflector/redirector not an aerofoil.

Anyways, here are some older pictures of the ABS plastic TRD ones I bought non-painted and painted myself:

The fins are worth .03 on the COD reducing it to 0.24. Also shaves 0.45 seconds of the 0 - 60 time due to the vortex effect on the rear quarter panel.

IMO they look dumb. the stock fake vents look dumb too though.

Afterthought slap-on aero on just about any car looks like ass, and on car as slow as the FR-S, even worse. At least with the TRD stuff, though, it might have seem some computer or wind-tunnel time.

From an honest stand point, I can see where this would make perfect sense on a track car. Under dedicated track car functional > pretty and you'd likely have an aggressive aero kit, the undercarriage plates, canards on the nose, and a functional (though likely beefy) spoiler on the tail.

For me, in a daily driving, I don't think just this would make a significant difference in terms of functionality to justify how much I feel uneasy about the style. Maybe it would grow on me, but I don't think I want it personally.

The ABS plastic ones come like that grey in pic1 or that black pic2? Haven't been able to find a good pic of them so far as they come ABS. My thoughts were with other ABS kit parts on the vehicle, it may be wiser (and easier on the wallet) to just get ABS.
