Of course this is just part of the conspiracy theory so don't worry about it.
The conspiracists must be fairly well organised as I only counted 103 references (I might have counted wrong) regarding this paper.

Global warming and ice lost necessarily *has* to be fake news because their model of the earth dictates that if we lose the ice wall then all the oceans will spill over the sides of earth spelling doom for all.

Yeah but we can just drill a hole and drain the ocean a little bit and we'll be ok.

This would work for them if there was warming enough to warrant draining the oceans, but that thinking doesn't work if the ice wall is completely gone. We have had no ice caps in our geologic history, where the sea level was dozens of feet higher than now, so I guess I'll concede that the "partial global warming" effect could still work with their flat-earth theory.

This is 20 feet. All the red areas will be underwater. Hard to imagine that it has been 60+ feet higher in the past.

This is a close up of Florida, which would be hit the hardest in the states, but many areas would require massive migration like New York City and other costal cities.

For a 2009 study, published in the journal Science, scientists analyzed shells in deep sea sediments to estimate past CO2 levels, and found that CO2 levels have not been as high as they are now for at least the past 10 to 15 million years, during the Miocene epoch.

A 2011 study in the journal Paleoceanography found that atmospheric CO2 levels may have been comparable to today’s as recently as sometime between 2 and 4.6 million years ago, during the Pliocene epoch, which saw the arrival of Homo habilis, a possible ancestor of modern homo sapiens, and when herds of giant, elephant-like Mastadons roamed North America. Modern human civilization didn’t arrive on the scene until the Holocene Epoch, which began 12,000 years ago.

Yeah I think for the city the boroughs would get hit the worst, maybe some of the tunnels. The city itself sits up pretty high. I think we'll see a ton of impact from inland waterways as well. Combine that with stronger storm surges and we're in for a good time!

The static rise is problematic, but like you say, the risks during extreme tides, during weather events like hurricanes, during floods, etc are even worse. There will be bigger problems if levees break like New Orleans. Sacramento is one of the second most at risk areas. It is barely above sea level.

From a pure damage prospective its only a risk if we continue to believe we can outsmart Mother Nature. We need to learn from tragedies like New Orleans and not try to build back. Ultimately we will fail.

I agree. Why invest to save an area that is likely doomed. It sucks that we built along the coastlines just because it made sense to build at ports-of-trade. I doubt that mentality will change much. It would be hard to rebuild entire cities inland. Building larger levees and ocean walls is probably what many areas will do. That is what Netherlands is trying. The Netherlands appears to be one the highest at risk of a rising ocean. Their model will be useful for other cities to determine the best course of action, whether that is to slowly abandon ship or to construct a barrier.

Well, the Netherlands was built on reclaimed ocean floor (something like 20% of the country if I remember correctly) so no surprise that they have flooding issues on occasion.
