Clutch Flywheel & Fuel rail change Engine cranks but won't start after
Hi Everyone,
Needing some help and advice. Car has a bottom mount turbo system from Ptuning. After periodically working on the car changing out flywheel, clutch, ball bearing, clutch fork, sparks, and radium fuel rails. I thought I was done but of course the car cranks but won't start. I have a obd2 scanner which throws the following codes: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/atta...1&d=1595247589 o Starter keeps cranking, the car pops, and you can tell it almost wants to start but at the end does not. Tried spraying some starting fluid and it got little closer but still no start o I've rechecked sparks and coils, all 4 are good o fuel rail: checked for fuel and pressure are good o battery is good, tried jump starting from a starter pack with checking voltage reading. Changed master fuse on battery, still good. Checked all fuses engine and cabin are good. Swapped fuse 12 (starting system), its good. o manually made sure ECU inside engine bay is grounded running a side cable. First time doing all the above, but what I've read and wanted to try next: 1. Replace acellerator, reading on the forums one of the code P2138 on subaru could mean bad pedal connection? 2. Could it be crankshaft position sensor? Really don't want to do this, taking everything apart with the turbo unit, so my question is would a different code have to be thrown if that was part of the problem? unfortunately been so long i don't recall checking this part. 3. could try checking injectors, but when i took out sparks there was gas so this doesn't seem likely? and no leaks. 0 any other simple solution i could try before taking apart tranny to check for camshaft sensor? |

That U0122 is the most concerning. Usually a ground fault to the ecm.
Any chance you pinched something removing the transmission? *edit* didn't see you mentioned it. I will keep thinking. |

Looks like all the other codes could be a product of the VDC one. Fix it and the problem will likely be fixed.
Seems most likely you have a damaged wire somewhere. Crank sensor should throw it's own code Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk |

The reluctor wheel behind the flywheel could've gotten misaligned during the clutch replacement if you had the flywheel off.

- Really thought it was throttle body, so I replaced it which cleared all the codes. Still cranks but no ignition.
- reloaded ecutek rom file, cleared all DTCs. Still only cranks no ignition. - Opened up fuel pump, Siphon out most of old gas and put in new 93 octane. Then checked fuel pressure for radium fuel rails, normal around 58psi range. Even switched back to OEM fuel rail. - Getting some backfire in the piping as i'm trying to crank At this point, this is puzzling as there's no engine codes. I logged and give it to my tuner which said nothing seemed out of range with ignition, timing, pressure, etc. that he can see from the ecutek. Anyone have any idea what to try next? Any chance you forgot to put the trigger wheel back on in front of the flywheel? Or put it on backwards? There is an inspection cover on top of the bellhousing where you can see the trigger wheel through.
