Ok,did this yesterday. Got my Ashiko shift knob from a member here on the forums.I decided to use some Duplicolor Removable Vinyl on it,mainly because I don't have window tints yet,and I didn't want to have the gear pattern burned into my hand like that Nazi from Raider Of The Lost Ark had that star burned into his hand.Plus the red looks better than the brushed nickel, imo, and this was cheaper than paying full price for a red one

If you look close enough I actually put a small scratch with my fingernail while trying to install it, but I'm sure another coat will will get rid of that.

Aside from dipping it,I have to say,I went from a stock knob,to a Blox, and now to this. Man,what a difference! I've read others say that shifting is so much smoother with this knob, but man,I didn't expect this thing to be this buttery! For me,the size is perfect, the weight is almost beyond perfect. I don't work for Raceseng, but if you have the money to blow,I would highly suggest picking one of these up.

Replaced air filter and cabin filter. BTW the stock OEM air filter part number has changed: '08 it was #17801-0D020 in '13 changed to #17801-22020 and the current part number is 17801-yzz03 (BTW this is same air filter for the first gen Scion tC). If you want to keep the car stock OEM Toyota filters are cheaper in Amazon than any online Toyota dealership (especially if you have Amazon Prime). As for the cabin filter everything is cheaper than OEM just get whatever fits the Honda Fit and is carbon activated.

Which ones did you get? I've read a lot of horror stories of aftermarket sidemarkers not fitting as well as OEM or falling out. Please post pics.

Bought them from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01ET...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wrote the newest review.

They're just the basic clear casing with no bulb. No issues with mine. You'll definitely hear an audible "snap" to let you know they're installed correctly. I'll update this with a pic later.

Just reading the description...

"•Perfect replacement for your stock amber side markers! Give your vehicle a cleaner, more updated look!"

OK, I give, how does replacing amber with clear make the look more updated and "cleaner"?

Serious question, I don't have an issue with them being swapped out (well except maybe for the legality of it) but I don't understand how this is "better/cleaner" than amber, or purple for that matter.

Some people feel the bright orange side markers draw attention from the look of the car, especially on light-colored paint. As far as legality, if you have an amber bulb in there you shouldn't have an issue, although CA law states that side markers need to "reflect amber."

I've read through the instructions on removing/replacing the side marker that's in the FR-S manual. It seems pretty straightforward. We'll see when mine come in.
