Belt Shredding Edelbrock

Anyone have belt issues with an Edelbrock E-Force?
I have gone thru 3 belts since March 2016. Just over 12K on SC about 45K on car.
Twice shredded a belt driving thru a parking lot barley off idle. Last one shredded at high rpm and damaged my hood.
The belt has never broken. It gets off track and shreds a couple ribs off. Alignment is good on all pulleys the idler spied in the kit has a slight wobble. But not very bad. Edelbrock just sent me a new idler and a new belt. Still working on a replacement hood.

I tied a search but for some reason my phone is not allowing me to do so.

TJ Hunt had issues with his system. From memory I think the idler pulley was at fault and belt size due to changed pulley size.

Check that idler pulley!

Have you spoken to Edelbrock directly?

Same time of install and same mileage, but no issues at all on the belt. What lifetime are the belts expected to have?

first belt is obviously the one that came with the kit. I think the second and third were goodyear. Current belt is store brand. Just had to take what I could get at the time.

I think I read somewhere that 37000 miles what's no problem. I'm getting more like 3700.

I keep this spare in the trunk which IIRC an Edelbrock rep linked me to either in one of the threads or PM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I find Google more useful to search this site. Example of what to type in Google search bar:
edelbrock belt site:ft86club.com

Which yields:
https://www.google.com/search?q=edel...obile&ie=UTF-8

In one of the results I see you need a different belt part number if you have a different sized pulley.

Always have a spare around...you'll need it eventually, and with the spare around you don't have to wait for an order to be shipped or track one down at a parts store
