2017 BRZ signed up for DS at Dixie Tour next month. I have STILL not seen an SCCA official classing for the 2017 Twins. When does next Fastrack come out?

Here's the classing info from SCCA solo for this year:
http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files...pdf?1485464811

Twins are in DS unless you have the TRD package on your FRS.

I guess you're not allowed in CS or DS if you have a Toyota 86 then. They should probably update that list....

I still think that the BRZ with 7.5in wheels and Brembo brakes should be in CS with the FRS TRD. 0.5 in wider wheels gives the 245/40-17 tires a more proper wheel width and will improve the performance by a wider footprint and less sidewall flex...

And slightly better braking from all the speed generated by the stock torque

The fact that the 86 is not there, means that this list is just like the official 2017 rules: they have not included the 2017 twins.
There is no year for the BRZ, but seeing that they "forgot" the 86, means they probably meant 2013-2016 for the BRZ, like what is written in the official rules.

Last week i've sent a letter to the SEB. They'll probably answer in the upcoming Fastrack.

If I'm reading this correctly the new BRZ goes to DS. What's the point in moving everyone away from the Miata and away from the TRD suspension if all the cars will be made obsolete by the 2017 BRZ performance package model anyways?

Yes, I know we don't know if it will be faster with the Brembos, wider rear wheels, etc. or not but it definitely has the potential to be.

You're not reading that correctly. The current classing shows 2013-2016 cars and makes no mention of the 2017 cars, regardless of PP or not. I think it's likely we'll see all of the 2017 twins in CS due to shorter gearing, as crazy as that is.

There's no year listed on the BRZ which means BRZ 2017 is technically classed. The FR-S is the only one that shows a year.

Not so. BRZ shows DS, 2013-2016. That means the 2017 is not classed at this point. There is no rule that says if a year isn't classed it falls with the previously classed cars.

The linked document does not list any years for BRZ. So again... If I'm reading the LINKED DOCUMENT right that's what it says.

Sorry, not trying to be a pain in the rear but it actually does Appendix A Automobile Classes, page 148 of the rule book. Under D-Street Subaru BRZ (2013-16).

No mention of 2017 BRZ or 86 in the street class section at this time, so they're not eligible until classed. That having been said, they WILL be classed before Dixie I'm sure, and in the meantime, it would be up to your local region to enforce what class they feel the car is fit in until the national office officially places it. I think it's likely they'll be in CS.

A call to Doug Gill with SCCA Solo may shed some light. I may give him a call next week...
