The bushing.. can't really tell as I think that helps more on the cars lateral movement. Haven't had the chance to go for another track day.. :/
But from a recent hooning(tonight) - turning tight corners, it feels more go-kartish. Definitely less sidewards 'roll'.

As for the shifter kit, the shifts are much more precise and slicker. When driving 'in gear' I've noticed there is less movement on the actual gear knob itself.
There is a noticeable increase in cabin sound however. You definitely hear the gears churn. Think of a sound like this(
) but much less high pitched and not as loud - fairly quiet compared to that and you will get what I mean. Inside cabin kinda sounds more race-car-ish. Either you love it or you will hate it.

Turn off the stereo, leave it in 1st and very slowly crawl around the carpark, you definitely feel the vibration and can hear the gearbox. It is quite noticeable. I was thinking about how the CUSCO version has less material on it, it may provide a much more comfortable/quiet ride instead.

At first I thought I might not have tightened up all the bolts/nuts correctly but I double checked and I have. I will check ONCE again, when my PERRIN rear shifter bushing arrives. (Have to pretty much do the WHOLE procedure as the Whiteline Shifter kit: Remove aero panel, remove midpipe but instead of removing the cradle brace/shifter mount I have to partially remove the driveshaft)

Are you able to post up a video from inside the cabin? I would really like to hear. That Liberty(?) sounded nice.

I've ordered the CUSCO variant of the transmission mount.

Not too sure if I like all the NVH the WhiteLine unit gives. I guess I'll have to wait until the CUSCO mount comes in now, then I can install both the CUSCO and the PERRIN shifter bushing in one go.

What makes you say that? You realize that the Cusco unit is bullit aluminum, thus making the mount solid. If your going for zero movement I'd say Cusco is the way to go.

DBA goodies

I find that the Whiteline KDT926 passes on too much vibration/noise into the cabin. Kinda makes me feel like I'm driving a truck/racecar.

I feel that since the KDT926 has more exposed surface area contact with the original mount that is what may be causing it(which it obviously *should*) - the increased NVH that is. So I'm opting to try out the CUSCO - less contact near the triangulated 'void' area so to speak. Will see how that goes.

Anyway.. some goodies came by in the mail today

It's got their patented 'Kangaroo Paw' technology

I got the DBA's from fellow forum member @86drift. These are the cheapest prices from any where. Took about a week for them to get to me too.

Sadly, DBA didn't include any instructions in their box regarding installation for the 86. I'll have to do some more research on how to change them out.
Once again.. I'd like to try to do the install myself

It's rewarding doing installation yourself. All you do to install them is unbolted caliper, slide old disc off and new one on, torque caliper bolts up to 60Nm and you're done. Msg me if you have any questions. Always happy to help.

Track Spec ;)

Got the DBA's Installed. Pretty easy installation. I didn't bother to change the pads(yet), didn't have any new brake fluid. I will most probably put some Motul in there at the same time I change to my TRD Blues.

here are the old discs

They are for sale if anyone's interested. $70each

EDIT: Torque Specs for anyone who's doing brake pad changes/rotor changes.

looking great mate! definitely keen to hear your experience after you install the CUSCO bushing and the Perrin Rear Shifter Bushing

And how did you find installing the bushings while it's on jacks. Most DIY Guides have been on lifts, does Jacks give yourself enough room to work with under the car?

It's harder, but not impossible. Depends if your claustrophobic or not.
I found that bushings were quite hard to install, not so much the disassembly, but prying apart the metal to shove the actual top bushings in.

Great thread,
Taking the time to show us whats being done and what works best,

Seen your 86 parked in Northbridge as I drive through there with my partner regularly, her college's nearby

Are bikes allowed on one of your cruises? We ride most Sunday mornings through Toodyay, Mundaring Weir, etc

Thanks. Ummm should be A-OK I think, @GaN-MaN would be the one to talk to as he's one of the mods on 'other' forum. Mundaring Weir is actually a pretty nice cruise(did that last fortnight with the 86/BRZ WA guys)
