I don't think the manifold change is for performance. Imo it was for cost and or durability.

The new car no longer looks as good because they are trying to incorporate design cues from other cars in the line-up, whereas the original car design was a fresh departure from the rest.
In the old days the same manufacturer may have models in the same lineup that have totally different design personalities, in addition to real pronounceable names. Japanese marketers these days are too westernized, overly obsessive with brand recognition and so-called unified design language (more like cost cutting designers' brain power and development time). |

D4S also provides expandability in fueling. While the WRX guys are stuck with the DI injectors that they have, we can throw in 1000cc port injectors in or our cars and pile on the boost no prob. It's a really versatile system!

Holy shit the valves are all caked up like Bimmer or VW/Audi DI engines with such low mileage. It needs a walnut blasting job.
For example, I heard a 4.2L V8 FSI Audi RS4 loses like about 100hp with this kind of issue. One reason I went with the BRZ is due to availability of port injection on top of direct injection. I think Toyota now even includes a cleaning routine with D4-S on their 3.5L engine. Last edited by krayzie; 07-09-2016 at 09:15 PM. |

This just came to my mind. For all this time I was planning to pay under 29,000 for the limited brz and planning to place an order for the 2017. But since doing this will require possibly paying mrsp which is about 27,500, would that equate to a 30k-31k car after all taxes and fees?
