two weeks ago my saleswoman called me and gave me my VIN and ETA of April 29. made mysubaru account. today my window sticker popped up. my question is where are people finding the updates like inspection, port, train and whatnot? none of these are on the mysubaru website for me...

All the info I got was via the sales department. When I added the VIN to the My Subaru account, it just verified the VIN and confirmed the ‘build’ and nothing more. It pretty much said that’s all they will give me until I fork over the cash. As I said before, I ordered the car and shortly after they told me I would get one and about when to expect it; I just have to be patient. And it all came to pass like they said. That didn’t stop me from saying, “Where the hell is Santa Claus? He sure is taking his time.”

I guess I bring possible bad news for those in Canada waiting, my order in January has been delayed and will likely be a 2023 model. I'm now looking at an ETA of roughly October or November.

Was hoping I'd get to enjoy the new car in the summer, oh well. I get to continue enjoying my FRS for longer which is fine in all honesty.

Garage
Just placed my deposit here at Subaru of Jacksonville for my 2023 BRZ!

2023 Subaru BRZ Limited
Crystal White Pearl
Automatic Transmission

Only accessory added was the Homelink/Auto-Dimming rear mirror. Decided to go Automatic this time for the Eyesight system. Autodriving my Outback these past few years has made me super lazy. Haha.

Price was $34,218! Estimated ETA is end of September, but I'm anticipating October/November.

Now we start buying parts! lol

Well before the Jan 13th cut off then. They did say that ordering before the cut off only "reduced the odds of cancelation" not that they guaranteed delivery.
They must have some real supply chain issues since they have closed orders on the Impreza and Forester which are two of their best sellers. They have also pushed out orders for the Solterra which they were banking on as there EV break through.
I am really starting to doubt whether my wife is getting the Ascent she ordered since it is now two months and we don't even have a VON yet.

Historically Subaru of all the manufacturers has run the tightest when it came to supply even pre-pandemic. Long known to have the lowest amount of incentives required to move vehicles. If Automotive News is to be believed, then currently Subaru is currently on a 4 day supply at least for last month in the US.

So any production or supply hits to them is probably more painful for them than most automakers.

That said I've already seen at least GM resort to removing features like heated seats and heated steering wheel. They at least provide credits which hopefully means the car is technically cheaper. I haven't heard the Japanese makers go this far yet or at least not that I know of.

Yep. It really hits them when they have to suspend orders for their best sellers.

When the dealer puts your order in, is there an order number or verification the order was sent?

When I asked my salesman he said when he submitted the order he got an Order Certification in the system. Nothing he can print out or show me. He said in a few days or week he should get more info.

Does someone know the process when ordering?

My dealer printed out a sheet with what options the car would have. Had some other numbers on it. Listed my mine and the sales person's name and expected arrival date.

So my sales man sent me a screen shot and I think it's this sheet you talking about. The title of the sheet says Sold Order Certification. Does not have an arrival date.

How will I know Subaru accepted the order and is building the car?

The salesperson that I worked with today to submit my 2023 BRZ order said that I should expect to receive an E-mail in 1-2 months from Subaru with a build confirmation once the VIN get assigned to the car. For people that went through the 2022 ordering process, was it a similar experience?
