I used to dislike my job so much that I'd wish I'd get in a bad car wreck every day on the way to work. Not bad enough to kill or permanently maim me, and I didn't want to hurt anyone else....just bad enough to put me in the hospital and intense painful physical therapy for a few months. That would have been an enjoyable vacation from my day gig.

I learned that riding in a Tesla makes me paranoid. I don't like the quietness and the acceleration without sound.

Why not take sick leave due to stress at work?? This would be a much less painful way to have some time off. You can highs and lows, highs when you can get out and about in your "sports" car and lows when you stay at home doing fuck all..

My wife hates electric cars, as they sneak up on pedestrians and I don't like them as the tyres still make a racket.. need hovering electric cars!

I'm not sure of their job demographic, but many places in the US do not offer paid sick time or sick leave at all. At least, at every job I had before this, if I called out sick I had a target on my back. if it happened more than once in a month, I had a "meeting" where the supervisor asked me if I cared for my job.

Scrolling thru articles I found this, which reminded me to what was mentioned a little while ago about sleeping less. According to a study, the less you sleep at middle age, the greater the risk it puts you for dementia.

You need a new job. My supervisor tells me I should take time off to rest when I am sick.

Days of staying in one job for the rest of your working life is over, 3 or 4 careers over your life is now the norm. The power has shifted to the employee, no longer does the employer hold strings.. "Power to the people!".. Now where's my Che Guevara t shirt..

Because money. Because family. Because responsibility. Because "long game" allowed me retire comfortably relatively young. Lots of reasons. Nothing wrong at all with sticking it out in a job you don't like, especially if you are doing some good while doing it.

A friend of mine was questioning his son as to why he kept quitting his jobs when the son sorely needed the money. His son replied, "They just weren't fun." My friend, known for his honesty and exuberance, replied quite loudly, "THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT WORK!!! IF IT WAS FUN, THEY WOULD'T HAVE TO PAY PEOPLE TO DO IT!!!!!"
