Good point!! I did return a tool once because I know they usually have to buy their own tools. I probably should have just kept it. I wasn’t even sure exactly what it was. Lol

i have to buy my own tools as well, but i'll tell customers that if i leave something behind, they can list it on ebay.

half my tools are old enough that leaving something behind gives me a chance to get a newer one!

I got used to having the BMW place do the oil in my BMW when it was free (this is, of course the idea).
So when I got a free oil change with the FRS I took it to the Toyota dealer. This was a mistake. As I was at the service desk and the whole place went silent after a loud screech from the auto-check-in area. I was shocked to see my car now only a few inches from the car in front of it. The clown did not know how to start it. Must have released the clutch suddenly and, fortunately, it stalled before crashing into the car in front.

I had been wanting a vacuum oil change for a while, so I finally go one. I can use it on my other cars too.
