I'm curious about the updated rocker arms. Or, I think there's an updated rocker arm. Can they be dropped onto my 2013 valves/geometry or are other changes required?

There were several changes along with the rocker arms. With the little description we have I don't see why they wouldn't retrofit though.

Check out page 77.

Their is only one tech they usually is allowed to touch my car at that dealer ship and they informed me that he would be getting the training as he is one of the top techs . I just wanted to share this Incase anyone else has the same experience . Gives me some peace of mind that they will at least be trained on the job . ╭(◕◕ ◉෴◉ ◕◕)╮

I’m speculating but it’s possible that this has to do with how many more cars Subaru dealers will be touching than Toyota dealers. Thanks to the low volume of effected FRSs per dealer, Toyota can get away with putting a master tech on a car, as noted in the recall guide.

Meanwhile Subaru is dealing with far more repairs of Imprezas, Forrsters, Crosstreks etc and therefore need rank and file techs brought up to speed on the procedure.

Guessing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep. But on the other hand the rank and file Subaru Techs will be much more familiar with the vehicles and engines so it balances out in the long run.

New rockers would likely need different shims for each valve too.
That could be time consuming and tedious.
Have to button everything up to measure, then tear it back apart if you didn't guess right.

Man, did we complicate THAT process.

Back in the day.

Decision: adjust them cold or hot?

Tools required: short screwdriver, a 1/2" wrench, a set of feeler gauges.

Skill required: a persistent, steady hand.

Time required: 10 minutes (even if you can't keep the screwdriver on the adjusting nut)

Is it ma nap time yet?

So, after the recall work is done. Will I need an alignment? They will be removing the sway bar and end links, so I am curious. Plus, I want to change my alignment.

I'm bringing mine to Longo in March (a little before my registration is due).

Can you post back with your experience and how your car is when you get it back?

I also called Longo a few times and spoke with different advisors, one told me they dont offer rental cars, another did. One person told me 4-5 hours and another person said 4-5 days. So it seems not all the service advisors are that knowledgeable about this recall, but a few are.

Feeler gauges? I used the "that sounds better" measuring method.

Yep, if it don't tick, it may be too tight, if it ticks loudly, it may be too lose, so, a mild tick is jest riiiight -

Besides, with one hand on the wrench and one hand on the screwdriver, which hand is holding the feeler gauge?
