Oh and this is one of the most unbelievable statements I have ever read...

"If anyone would know what's coming, it would be a dealer."
Yea, I saw the original article on Drive and didn't have the nerve (or too much common sense) to post it. For those that want it, I hope it happens but I've seen nothing yet that says it definitely is coming soon.

Supra model year change overs and final reveals have usually been around late July thus far with teases beginning in late March. So why anything would be confirmed right now is odd...

There's a wide gap of knowledge between the people that own and run a dealership and some of the random sales people they employ there.

(also I have no doubt you already know this and are just being difficult).

My local Subaru dealership OWNER told me about the turbo convertible BRZ that was coming out in 2018. He went into great detail about how he was shown it at an owner's conference and it was a definite go and should be on the lot by the end of 2018. Do you see many people enjoying their 2018 turbo convertibles?

When looking to replace the FRS in 2020 the same guy told me I had better buy the BRZ they had in the showroom because the model was discontinued and there was never going to be a Gen 2. He stated he had "many" emails from corporate saying they were never going to make the BRZ again. They have one sitting on their lot right this minute so he must have been very surprised.

When I picked my Hakone up from it's first service at the small town Toyota dealer (not at the dealer ship I bought it from) near work. The owner AND the sales manager came out to ask me where I got the custom interior made and who I had paint it green.

I am historically pro dealer and think they get a bad rap from about 90% of the people on this, or any car, forum but in most cases being well informed of the more unusual of their products is a very common shortcoming no matter how far up the dealership ladder they are. This is probably as much the parent companies' fault since most of them seem to be really bad at informing the dealerships what is happening on anything but the big sellers.

A wide gap between the sales force and management is not acceptable either since managers should be making sure their salespeople know whatever they do. Unfortunately if the managers have bad info so will the rest of the staff.

Yeah, they probably have to remove that divider at the centre console because it was placed in a dumb location, the driver’s side, in the first place. I never understood why they placed a divider there instead of the customary passenger side. It’s weird and illogical and just impairs the driver’s ability to reach controls in the centre console and stack. Bad design that even impaired their ability to install a manual gearstick, requiring a redesign. Hilarious.

Sure, but they could do that by putting the divider on the passenger’s side of the centre console. Like the F-Type does. It always looked weird just having a divider on the driver’s side, and it’s impractical to boot.

BTW, if they wanted an FT-1 interior feature to copy, they could have gone with the FT-1 steering wheel. The production steering wheel they went with is butt ugly, not sporty at all and looks like it came off a Camry.
