Scott, it's Mike! I've made the jump to STX as well. Welcome to the dark side
Agreed. It is an excellent site. Lots of room, decent grip (~90% asphalt, 10% concrete). I'm biased as I am a Finger Lakes Region guy who helped/is helping, but impressions were quite positive last year. I believe we're even better prepared this year.

I'm going to miss the power, but handling is awesome and RWD is more my thing.

I plan to be there. Should have my car out of the body shop soon after a disaster of a trip to Charlotte... I'm in CS though, but I'll say hi

I loved the event last year, looking forward to this year too!

Did you get rear ended on the way home? I got rear ended on the way home from Bristol last year. My car was totaled though! Glad you and the car are fixable.

I got registered for the Finger Lakes Tour. Only after I registered did I notice that the dates had changed. Luckily I can make the new dates too.

Even sillier, I got rear ended on the tail of the dragon and punted into a car ahead of me... all of us are friends

Accident caused by some moron brake checking a car ahead of us, accordion effect and we all stopped except for the guy at the back of the train who had zero visibility.

Would the STX crowd on here be interested in a new "STX setup sharing thread"? There is one that is quite old now and doesn't have a whole lot in it. When I raced in STS there was a new thread every year for people to post their setups for that year. It was fun to see what new ideas were being tried and see what unique setups people were having success with year to year. But I don't want to start a new thread for it if it's only going to get a few critical responses and not be of any benefit to anyone. Thoughts? Or would this crowd rather just keep the details private?

I like the idea and would do what I can as a non engineer type driver to contribute. This will be my first season with the car, though I have 20+ years racing.

Scott

I may actually come out of retirement this year, but not for the Tour (although thanks for the codrive offer!).

I sat in on the webinar discussion of the rule change a while back. The spirit of the rule is to maintain the seat in some near stock (Street) condition. I think the intent is to have a seat similar to the stock seat that is cushioned and upholstered as a daily driver type of seat. But you might have to ask around to get the latest interpretation. STX is supposed to be a step up from street class that maintains all of the driveability and safety features of the stock vehicle. To some people, myself included, a full racing seat is going beyond the idea of a street car. Also, it says the SEAT must weight at least 25 pounds. Not sure if adding weight would be within the rules.

Mine has two Sparco racing seats. Research indicated they only saved 8 lbs off of OE or about 36 lbs as installed.

They’re about to ship IIRC.

I should have mine in a week or so, hopefully.
