Clearly that is a ripoff of the 86 design owned by Toyota. I'm just saying, don't be like supergraphictees (dot com but I'm not spelling it because they don't deserve the search engine hits). If you're going to make a shirt, make something unique! That's my opinion.

Hachi is a busy man. Here is info about supporting the forum.

You're very right, that design is trademarked by Toyota. In fact, this is actually a picture of the emblem itself leveled out in Illustrator. I thought it would be nice to be able to own a really nice, fashion fitting (non super cheesy) piston logo shirt. I'm just trying to think of what I'd like to wear! Of course, if a cease and desist found its way into my email... that's another story.

Thank you for that info as well! I'll check that out.

Well that is lame. And illegal.

I bet you could come up with a very attractive design that is inspired by your quest for a non super cheesy fashion fitting piston logo shirt, if you got creative and made something unique...

Best of luck to you.

Unfortunately, it would be the same for both of us... I love the design that you did with the BRZ / FRS within the numerical 86, but even in that situation, Toyota and Subaru own the trademark to the shape of the car, headlights and everything in between even in a silhouette. Working in the industry that I do, I have seen more than my fair share of trademark disputes with car manufacturers and brands.

Even so, you are right, I may look into doing something a little different. This is something that I threw together at work today to see how people felt about the overall one color look / feel.

I like the signature that someone here has that shows the three front ends of these cars. I would wear that if the shirt looked good and was well made.

Added a little bit of distress, and text. Thoughts on this? I think these would be the two color combos that would get printed first.
