GT86 Rear seat sub enclosures

A diy project I worked on, a set of custom 8” sub woofer boxes under removable panels, that replaced the rear seat bottoms in the GT86. The removable panels are wrapped in acoustic cloth, grey suede and vinyl, giving it an OEM plus look.

They house a set of 6.5" coaxials...

That is pretty cool. Ever thought of doing a speaker setup in the middle of the rear seat similar to how a GTR setup is???

i've looked into it.

the major considerations is that the seat structure is only about 2" thick, so even most shallow subs would protrude out the back. the structure would need to be reinforced as well.

but i stopped considering it when the sub i wanted to use would protrude out the back, as folding the seatback flat for further cargo capacity was one of my main requirements i wasn't willing to compromise on.

I would be super interested in learning more about the specs for these enclosures. Would be more than willing to compensate for any plans/measurements. PM me if you're willing!
