Do you guys have a 93 octane tune for the KW kit? I'm assuming probably not since everything around you guys is 91. Hoping for a little extra timing.

I've watched people sell these after a week because it was a bit absurd how loud it was all the time.

Let me see if I can find the video that I saw of one of the first installs.

@KraftWerks can we get an official comment on running one of these? Would it affect warranty at all?

As long as you don't throw it into the spinning impeller of the rotrex inlet....it won't affect your warranty

Isn't that the same as disconnecting the hose that goes to the intake on the KW kit?
How does the KW tune work, is it map or maf?
In other words, can we vent a bov to atmosphere? Because want!

Why don't you just unhook the hose that recirculates air to the intake...
Should do the same thing for free (unless I'm missing something).

Visconti:

Delicious
http://datazap.me/u/postbreak/kraftw...ious-91-octane

Now the Vtune is MAF and Delicious is speed density I believe. You can see the D tune hit 11AFR where as the V tune stays in the 12's. According to my AEM wideband both hit 11.7 AFR at the lowest level. I'm not sure why the V tune doesn't record that in ecutek.

Now how do they compare on the butt dyno? Well they feel pretty close. I don't feel like I've lost a bunch of power. They are close and that's all I'm going to say without comparing both on a dyno.

On the street the V tune feels like beast mode. Power when you want it. It's pulls like crazy all over the place. If you stuff it, she'll give it to you. It's like a knife.

The D tune feels more like "stock" boost. Like you have to ask for power. It feels "smoother" to drive on the street because it's not begging to be unleashed.

How would I compare them? Honestly, I'm glad I have both, they both appear to be running how they should looking at my logs and my lean situation with the V tune was just an Evap leak. I didn't change the tune, just clamped those evap hoses and suddenly it was running in the rich areas where it should.

Overall I'm happy with both tunes and they work great.
what's the rev limit? have you tried pushing to 7400-7600 rpm? if you could log mafv next time that'd be nice. also, it looks like you don't have your aem wbo2 hooked up to the ecu and you can't log via ecutek?

my AEM wideband is hooked up to the ECU but I had to pay Delicious extra to enable it... but I will be getting that soon as well as a 93 tune.

I also have a kraftwerks tune that will have the wideband logged so I will post logs of them to compare and offer feedback.

I installed my kit yesterday and figured I'd leave some thoughts here.

First of all, congrats to Kraftwerks, this is a well thought out, well designed kit, very clean, and reasonably easy to install, specially if you have a buddy with you that knows his way around engines. Kudos!

My kit still came with the smooth idler pulleys, not toothed. I bought it from Moto-East, but it was shipped straight out of KW directly to my house, so it seems like KW still has to put some effort on improving their packaging process. No big deal, will be on the phone and sort that out later today.

I think the torque specs for the upper support bracket are too high in the new instructions, at 38 ft*lbs (if I remember correctly). Factory is 20 ft*lbs. I actually stripped the threads on the alternator side trying to reach that spec; that was a little unnerving, but the workaround was easy enough with a longer bolt and a nut. I torqued the a/c compressor side up to 30 ft*lbs. Interestingly, the old instructions linked in OP only say to torque to factory specs, which would have saved me some grief. Hopefully no one else will encounter this.

The instructions could use a bit more clarity in some areas, but pretty good overall, and this thread was very useful in filling in any gaps. It would be nice if the air pipes were marked with a flow direction, it would help the fitment--it's not obvious for some of the pipes which direction they go, and fitment is by trial and error.

I'm running a base tune right now, but will be taking it to Moto-East soon for a proper tune up. Even so, the car already feels a lot more "interesting" than it used to
