You should need less than 1L of brake fluid for a change (should somewhere be between 0.75L and 1.0L).

I used Motul RBF 600 before I tracked mine (stock brakes) last summer and it worked fine. I plan to flush by brakes again around May-June with more of the same when I do my upgrades.

Excellent article ! I will PM you later this year when the BBK upgrade makes it to the top of the list. Want to discuss the choice between sprint and endurance for my specific application.

Meanwhile I snapped this pic from the garage of a well known racing team. I talked with the " brake man ( 11 years with PFC)" for a good while and although this team uses several different brands front and rear for different tracks, his overall comments sealed the deal for AP on my car.

Anyone care to guess the team that owns this car?

So with upgraded parts as a DD how much could the stock brakes handle until what power range?

So can you tell us your opinion on Sti Brembo BBK swap?
I know that many people did that including me.
It's BBK so I think it might be worthy?

I can tell Subaru designed the brake system from the pedal feel. My STi has the same non-linear feel that my FR-S does.

I'm thinking this has to do with the brake booster and no the master cylinder, that's based how swapping my Nissan S13's manual transmission brake booster to one from an automatic S14 increased pedal feel.

Seeing how there isn't this capability with the FT86, do you know of some wizardry that can address the brake feel under moderate braking?

Any thoughts/experience with cryogenically frozen rotors? Supposedly, last longer and warp less.

After thought: Love the thread, good info and reading. Thanx.

You could but it might cause issues with the traction control.

I run a front BBK - 4 piston fixed with 13" rotors of some kind. Braking performance is excellent. Fade resistance is great. Pedal is stiff and will actually begin to slow the car down at the beginning of its travel before the brake light even lights up, lol! A front only brake upgrade is only going to perform as well it was designed and in my case I'm running a system (allegedly) made with the thought of retaining the stock rear brakes.
