I see Celica Supra wheels in my sleep...

Ok wheel masters...I've got it in my head that a retro build for my 13 FR-S is a good idea. As such, the early 80's Celica Supra wheels, which I love, keep trying to find their way onto my car in some way.

I've hit a wall on the internets trying to find a suitable solution to my literal dreams. I got close. Boyd Coddington makes 17" repros ($2600 a set...yikes!) but the four lug OEM pattern = no dice.

So I decided to enlist the best and brightest with a possibly doable version of my pipe dream...

I need to find a wheel that is as close in design as possible, that fits our lug pattern and will fit the car. Runner up for the same thing in an Ae86 snowflake look.

Am I insane? Yes.

Can you help me is the better question...

Here are the repros:

I had an 84 supra before I wanted those soo bad!

I'd say best bet is to search for discontinued wheels from Japan, there are a lot of importers now bringing the good stuff over!

I like these guys: http://atk-attack.com/

Tom's has a few split 4 spoke designs.

Good suggestion. The issue with the split fours is the bolt pattern. I'm assuming a split 5 would be needed to fit our cars. The look could be made similar but obviously not as good. I'm ok with that.

errrr pic for views you could always do a hub swap, you know depending on how bad you want the wheels!

I don't understand your pic for views comment...? I edited my post and added it so people could see the modern interpretation, and what I'm after.

Yeah I may be able to hub swap if the overall circumference worked, but I don't think it will. Beyond that the price for that and the wheels would equal about a quarter of what I paid for the car...seems a little obsessive, even for me.

Starion wheels are very similar and they are also 5 lug (5x114.3 I believe).

And according to the interwebs there are 4 different widths, 16x6,7,8 & 9. Offset is low too, less than 20.

I love this design as well, but in reality the only way to get it is to swap hubs and everything else. I bet if you go to the mk2 supra forums you could price everything out including the wheels. I've never seen any split 4 spoke design in anything other than 14" or 15" sizes either.

Yep, except the Boyd's in my post above for $2600. Well, moving on...damn it.

You could look into getting custom adapters made, but the adapter might be pretty thick, so you might need a wheel with pretty high offset and not too wide if your car isn't wide-bodied. That's what this guy did to fit his 4-bolt Watanabe's:

Yep, I played around with that for a few hours. Just can't bring myself to turn Salma Hayek into Beyoncé.
