Did you notice the improvement with the Wayne tune against the generic tunes you tried?

Thanks. I purchased a Wayne tune too, but I feel I could get a bit more out of the JDL 4-2-1 in the 3500-4500 rpm range.

Hey, did you also tried the stock oft stg 2+ tunes and can you compare? I also feel like there is a bit more to get out of the tune, but I wonder if the wayne tune (I guess Stg2 ACE) would do the job

I did, but based on logging street WOT pulls with OFT I did not find a significant difference on volumetric efficiency. I find it difficult to produce repeatable data with street logs and draw definitive conclusions.

edit: I looked back at my logs and what I ran was a hybrid of V4 Stage 2 and Stage 2+, with the exhaust VVT being the average of the two. Overlaying all my data I would say that the Wayne EL maps appear to produce a VE that is a bit higher from 4400 rpm and onwards.

that s why you should stop wasying time with VVt and just scale well the maf sensor, lean out a bit the afr and put more timing until it knocks

Tbh I have no idea what you are talking about Is it worth it to start learning how to tune this and make my own tune using stage 2+ as a baseline? Or is it the same result as with wayne tunes? If so, I would rather just pay him

I´m using JDL EL 4-2-1, uncatted

@J95, I would suggest spending the 60$ for the Wayne tune and perhaps follow his procedure for adjusting the MAF scaling. Then you could log engine knock and reduce ignition timing if necessary. Otherwise, as tomm.brz suggested, adjusting the variable timing maps can lead you to a path of many ECU reflashes...

Is there much benefit to a Wayne tune for a car with a basic catted UEL (FT-86 SpeedFactory)?

I keep debating it, but don't really have an understanding of what the positives are. I have no issue with the cost, just want to understand what Id be getting for the money!
