If the tax is based on the value of your vehicle it is considered a property tax and is deductible on your federal income taxes if you are able to itemize.

I did my first engine oil/filters change today , since the 6yrs warranty expired.
It was a real pita because the "skilled technicians" had previously overtightened the sump plug bolt and rounded off the corners.
Not a big problem, i will just buy a new one for the next oil change in 5000kms.

Perfect excuse to spend a bit more and grab a Fumoto oil drain valve and make oil changes less or a pain in the future. Cheers.

Feel like I drove entirely too much today. I don't mind putting pointless miles on it (I do that a lot just because), but not when it's through shitty weather and on shitty roads. Got it really dirty and it looks like it'll be raining these next few days so I can't even wash it. Exciting times

Just keep in mind that $400 probably includes a lot of different taxes/fees and technically you can only deduct the "property" tax portion.

True. I can't speak for other areas, but in Georgia its clearly itemized as to which part is what, if you have a legacy car that still is subject to property tax. In 2012 they switched to model here where it is an upfront vehicle 7% sales/title fee that you pay on registration and then done. My fees this year of 4 of my 5 cars is $20.00 each. The 5th (our '05 Mustang) will have a property tax assessed against it. Probably about $50 + $20.

Since i keep cars a while, the 7% upfront saves me money. Property tax was cheaper if you roll your cars over every 3 to 5 years.

Got everything done.

Cusco engine mounts.
AVO 3 inch down, over and mid pipe.

Nameless 3 inch exhaust no mufflers.

I had my test exhaust of the stock exhaust with removed mufflers and it was quiet for no mufflers. Was thinking a little louder would not be bad. This exhaust however is piss off the neighbors LOUD! I will live with it now and decide if I want to quiet it down later.

Cool start

Got inspection and registration and all that done this week. Also had this car for a year now and it’s been incredible. No complaints whatsoever

Great clips @Grady Sounds pretty good. I’m going to go with a 3 inch exhaust when I upgrade since they sound great, but I’ll keep mufflers on. I’m sure yours is pretty loud in person huh lol

Yes it is. Never thought there would be that much difference from stock exhaust no mufflers or cat’s to this set up. I will probably change out the axle back part for the one with the mufflers. For now I just do my cold starts at 5:00am with the garage door closed.

Did the Forester XT Oil Cooler "mod", I got coolant everywhere. It legit smells like coolant for the last 3 days. I checked everything no leaks as of now just the initial intake cooler leak from removing the U-Tubing.

I did it buying parts off of Subaru and buying generic hosing (will replace with Coolant hosing) to save the $130 from Neds kit.

Forgot to burp the coolant system the first day and got weird numbers, thank god I remembered to do it after getting home from work.

I have to grow a pair and hose down the engine bay, but haven't done an engine bay hose down in years, scared of the weird wiring setup in the BRZ.

As long as you cover your battery and alternator, fuse box and ABS controller, you should be fine. After you hose it down, blow out as much water as you can with either air compressor or leaf blower, then run your engine for 5 minutes.
