Who has bought a header...then Turbo?
I've been cruising around the forums for some time now about going Turbo or not (most of it outdated). My only other option is just to buy a header. I've been doing mods off of a projected list and have followed it the whole way, header is next on my list if you can understand.
I just want to know who out there has bought a header (either planned, or just thought it wasn't enough) then bought a turbo.

I'm sure plenty have. I bought the headers on my car from a guy that did just that. If you're worried about spending frivolous money on a header just to replace it with a turbo down the road, why not go with a supercharger down the road and you won't be buying something just to replace it later. You already have the OFT, which should of helped alleviate the torque dip, if the car feels underpowered for you and you're wanting more, IMO a header isn't going to do too much more to fix that.

I think a header is a good way of giving your car a little bump while holding off until you have enough for a turbo. You'll be losing very little in the long run.
Comparing the feeling of a header to FI is night and day though. With a header your car will seem a bit more wholesome due to decreased torque dip, but FI is a whole other animal, it's like driving a completely different car. |

I know that P&L's header is modular, you can get that header, and then later buy their kit to go with that header. Just another option.

Also depends on the FI route you take. Most headers work with our turbo kit.

Im going the route others have said. Header 1st to delay FI a little longer then if I still feel the need for more power I'll just go supercharger and keep using the ACE header I plan to buy.

I have had a header on my car for 3 years now. My turbo just showed up yesterday lol. I think it was worth it for the sound alone. I am just selling the header cheap to the guy who is letting me use his hoist for the install

Yes they do . We jig our turbo kit to work off of a factory header so any factory replacement header will work. Unfortunately the ACE header will not work because it has the over pipe built in.

PTUNING has a very cool solution, and a nice quality kit to boot. In the end though it's not a huge deal - just re-sell whatever header you buy if you want to go with a turbo kit that has a custom manifold included. Or just go supercharger |

I'm actually not buying a header because I fully intend to turbo. I feel it would be a waste of time and money.
