Arrow Mazda Iconic SP concept

Mazda teases electric sports car concept with what might be pop-up headlights during $10.6B EV investment annoucement. Whether this is more "RX" or "MX" is unknown. Will there still be a B58 powered RX-Vision based on the Toyota GT racecar? Who Knows.

No further details were given.

Especially ones that are more lethal than a pie spatula in the hands of a demented nana.

Yeah, great looking concept… now if Mazda would just translate one of its recent sports car concepts, like this or the earlier RX vision coupe, into a real coupe people can actually buy… :/

In reality, this is just a styling concept, but some design elements may find their way onto the next MX-5, whenever that debuts.

Of course, I wish I was wrong, and Mazda surprised me by releasing an all new coupe - even an EV one! Toyota released a cool MR2 concept a while ago that would also make for a great EV sportscar. I know some enthusiasts will die in a ditch over their ICE cars with a manual stick, but I’m willing to contemplate a full EV sportscar in my future if it drives well, has decent (twins level) performance, and looks the goods. someone just has to start building them, instead of just pumping out SUVs, crossovers and sedans as EVs.

Video is labeled that this is the next MX-5, which it most definitely is not and is a concept far from production form. It is clearly more reminiscent of the RX7 in every aspect, especially with the rotary hybrid system. It is the right size, but the total height seems a little low, so I feel like this is a 4/5 scale model; it just seems too wide and low next to the presenter to be production close like it is a Ford GT40 proportions in the size of a Miata or something.
