Ooooooh ...
I've been sitting on a '64 GTO model for decades that I've been too tremulous to attempt.
Trashing a hard top into a convertible is something I haven't been willing to do.
This is cool.

My old Le Mans 'vert was such a rust bucket, that has been even more of a dis-incentive.
Still, factory 4 speed. The kit only has double 4 barrels. Mine was 326 2 barrel.

Cutting the roof off is easy. The hard part is making the cover or folded roof. That is a bit down the road yet though.
If you ever decide to do it I wouldn’t worry about the carb. Once the air filter is on top you will ever know how many barrels it has.
I was happy this kit came with a 327 since they usually seem give you a 409. The 327 just isn’t cool enough I guess.

And you never see one with the engine my 1964 impala SS had. It was the rare 283 2 barrel SS.

Most of the Canadian ones were actually 283 two barrels. Mine was a 327 two barrel that I upped to a four. We never even had the 409s here.
Since the two engines are identical on the outside the 327 would work for a 283 anyway.

No wonder the 283s were rare here. Canada took them all.

Trying something new. Only doing the driver's door for this build as I don't know if I'll be able to pull this off.

It is a challenge but a great jumping off pint for scratch building mods.
