Funny, I noticed the picture shows someone putting it on the wrong direction.

What if the picture is just upside down?

Then you would have a 180° view of them wrapping it the wrong direction.

you NEED teflon tape.

also, assume 30 min-1hr, could take up to 3 hours even. it'd take a professional plumber 10-15min. not being in the trade, i can promise you it will take longer. it takes me at least 1/2hr for the same job and i work next to the guys lots of times to steal their secrets! i also can't seem to get through any plumbing project like that without at least 2 hardware store trips...

everyone buys the super cheap/thin white teflon tape. it sucks.

i highly recommend this stuff. it's thicker, and tends to be a little more durable:

also, 1-2 wraps will not be enough.

my shower head has something like 8-10 wraps to keep from leaking. newer shower heads somehow have looser tolerances--it's not a specific brand, i hear the plumbers complain about it all the time...

If it takes you half an hour to install a splitter it is a very good thing you are an electrician! That is a 10 to 15 minute job tops.

half-hour of home-work is assumed to also include at least 2 beers, chatting with the neighbor while i run out to grab the other pliers from the garage, and dig through my parts bin to find the teflon tape!

Ahhhh that is a totally different matter. In that case I have taken 3 years to put on a 2 foot piece of trim.

Speaking of showers....

We just had our shower enclosure replaced, basically ended up with the exact same enclosure except now it's aged bronze instead of brassy gold.

I switched out the showerhead and the shower controls to make them match. Showerhead took maybe 5 minutes. The control took a trip to UPS Store to return the one MomHawk ordered without taking into consideration the one we already had. Then went to Lowes to buy the right one without the cartridge (cartridge is fine) and about 15 minutes to swap it out. So, all told, I have about 3.5 hours in the shower control, with maybe 30 minutes of real work.

16 months for a toilet in the new house. Still haven't put in the new kitchen faucet at the lake I bought 17 years ago. Still in the box under the sink.

I'll get to it next time....

Or just have a drink and watch the deer zoomies.

Believe it or not, this is the best strategy for plants like this. Plant them in the fall so they aren't dividing energy between blooming and establishing a strong root system

Just be aware that a common nickname for the "Endless Summer" hydrangeas around here is "Endless Bummer" because they never seem to perform as advertised.
