I snuck a reference to that into a thread a couple of weeks ago. Those that know must not have read it. It would be meaningless to anybody else though.

I hear it was a lot of fun.

Dreadful news. Like others, Steve came through for me when other solutions were lacking. Always helpful (kindly answered all my noob questions before I had a basic understanding), and his expertise totally transformed my E85 tune. This forum is all the poorer for the loss of Steve.

Correct me if i'm wrong - while steve99 indeed offered custom tuning for money (outside forum), he didn't use this forum to actively advertise his services, which supposed sponsors should need that user mode to be allowed to. Or have done that so rare and with modesty, that it drowns into his generic informative posts that helped a ton lot of users here. Which should be, if anything, almost granting him some special honor status free of such lame reports/attacks.
While by rule that Tcoat mentioned we cannot discuss it .. but that all seems so wrong, and yes, loss to forum. Everything is compromise, everything has cons & pros. But in this case mod choice is not in any help for forum (such as getting more money for hosting costs from larger scale vendors that have enough sales to justify forum usage for extra advertisement channel, or cleanup from spam of vendors seeking free advertisement), but rather opposite, this decision hurts forum and twins community, a lot at that, by order vs supposed "gains".

Exactly my experience. Steve advised and supported me on multiple occasions (via DM) without pushing services or seeking renumeration for his time. It was his altruism (and reputation across the net) that eventually led me to work with him on a custom tune outside of the forum.

Absolute shame on the mods and admin team for this ridiculous move. Could give less of a shit of the “rule” Tcoat mentioned. Ban me if they want, I just got out of the platform. But I can tell you steve99 was the best there was out there in terms of enthusiasts. Helped me and my friends many times, and obviously, never was asked via DMs to purchase any services from him.

Shit call by the mods. This is like when an NBA ref calls a bullshit foul.

There is no quotation marks around the rule. It is a rule not a recommendation.
I only mentioned it because it is not commonly known and people have been banned for breaking it.

There is not a single person that has called Steve into more conversations than I have. When tuning came up he was the go to guy.

There are at least half a dozen d1ckheads on here whose only goal seems to be to raise shit and troll people but they manage to stick around even after many warnings. Unfortunately this forum is not a democracy nor publicly run. It is a private enterprise and the Administrators can do whatever they please.

No. I just recognized a knowledgeable and helpful person when I saw one. When a topic turned out to be tune related I summoned Steve.

My modern tuning knowledge consists of you plug something into something else and perform back magic with a tablet or laptop.

Jamesm (newbs won't even know this guy, but he was a great tuner in FL) and Steve99 both banned ...two of the best guys who understood the FA20 well and were always willing to help members get those motors dialed in.

This banishment is completely wrong. I'm sure somebody will smash that triangle and report all of us to the here once a month to collect their money mods.

And then we can't even talk about it...so much for an open and helpful message board. BAN ME...I don't care

Not everyone uses Facebook (especially in 2022, lol). Keep sniping.
