How to seal tail lights?
I'm doing a custom mod to my tail lights.
Can you please suggest what product to use to seal them? I read of 3M Weatherstrip, but I'm in EU and it's not available here. Thanks! |

Doesn't have to be 3M. Self Adhesive weatherstrip and/or trim adhesive.
Alternatively cut your gaskets out of closed cell foam and use trim adhesive. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk |

I don't think that foam can seal tail lights that had been cut.

Can you post a picture of what you've done with your lights?

I think he was more interested in a pic of what you're doing so we can come up with better ways to try and seal it.
It's hard to make suggestions without knowing what's going on. |

I think a lot of people end up re-heating and use the existing OEM sealant,
Mostly I think because its a total pain in the ass to clean it all out of the groves anyway Diode Dynamics recommends this stuff, no experience with it personally https://www.diodedynamics.com/butyl-...p-sealant.html |

generally, i use a clear 2-part epoxy to re-seal assemblies like that. usually only headlights use butyl rubber as a sealant-- that is reusable and/or can be added to.

2 parts epoxy sounds good, butyl tape is usually good for headlights. Thanks!

but for one reason or another, most places like to plastic weld tail lights instead.
