Makes you realize how good the S15 and its SR20DET was out of the box back in 1999.

The behavior of so many people during the pandemic has shown impatience, selfishness, shortsightedness, ignorance, and outright delusion. The coronavirus doesn't care about any of that. The virus doesn't care about politics, or personal beliefs, or how frustrated someone is with restrictions. Contagion will continue as long as people let it. One look at the data in the U.S. right now shows how well things are going here.

I think many people grossly underestimate the full economic ramifications of the virus. The unfortunate reality is that it's far from over, and won't be 'over' for some time. Years. When that reality becomes unavoidable, the economic consequences will begin in earnest. We've barely begun to feel them so far.

Sports cars are pretty close to the bottom of priorities in a recession. The boom market in some toys right now (RVs, boats, etc.) isn't sustainable. Things will likely be very different this time next year, and it may not be a kind economic environment to develop or launch a new sports car.
Meh, death rates are already down 80% for hospitalizations. Once they cut that last 20% down to near none than it can be just a cough for most people. I give it 3 weeks.

I’ve heard that since April

Please continue to dismiss the insight of actual infectious disease experts, that’s worked very well so far.

The MT ones do. The AT will do it in second, but no launch control. If it had launch control, the AT could, in theory, be faster.

Don’t underestimate the potential of a 30ft lb bump in torque, revised gearing and a flatter torque curve on acceleration. Ask BMW about how average power wins races.

Exactly. BMW used to be very meticulous about getting ideal torque curves, and therefore good power under the curve. This is how a 225hp BMW was faster than a 225hp Audi in the early 2000s.

Not to feed this, but you do know that every country that did well has seen a resurgence, albeit not as bad as the first one. They all had to shut parts of the economy again. This will happen here without doubt, whether it gets bad or is just manageable, no one knows, but we will find out.

As far as the twins go, it will depend on the economy, I expect many layoffs in the US even as the economy opens. It’s the American way, there are too many people and not enough jobs, simple as that. We will need stimulus to goose this economy and likely print forever.

If things get bad, companies will focus on core assets and the twins are not high on the list.

Just go get the TRD Camry.

True but when people stop dying then it becomes just another flu for 90% of us.

SR20 DET had the benefit of 10 years of R&D from being Nissan's 4 cyl workhorse at that point though. It had been in every Silvia since the S13 as well as a few transverse mounted applications like the Bluebird and GTiR Pulsar among others.

I've thought similar with where the trunk badge goes. Plate lights are already up in there. Wouldve been free and potentially stylish to use that space.
