Yeah, one of the other things that irks me is that they locked some of the new overlays like lap time delta behind the Smartycam 3.

But enough thread jacking Your build is amazing by the way and hope you get your TB issues sorted
No worries about thread jacking, haha. I'll play with RS3 tonight, some of my friends forget to share the AIM file for RS2 so I need to learn it sooner than later anyway.

I opened up the TB. The gray stuff strewn about is worn off track, it is pretty clear which spot has been triggering the TPS fault too. This TB only has 6 events and a few hours of dyno time on it, lol.

Hard to tell, but the outside wiper (longest track) is noticeably bent down compared to the other three.

So you think it's a contact issue, gear issue or both. The throttle plate gear looks pretty jacked at where I assume is full throttle.

Ugh, I didn't even notice that, you're right. Looks like both, wtf? I have the max open limited to keep it from traveling past 90* and I know it doesn't go to the stop at that point.

Hard to tell but the teeth on the white gear are damaged too.

Do you have any bracing on the intake manifold at this point? How many events was it on this throttle body before failure?

Not yet, it’s on the summer list of things to do. It started faulting on the third event day, it has six total.

If you need it, I have a Kpower engine harness that you could use for the event if they don't get yours back in time.

I really appreciate the offer, hopefully it doesn't come down to that. I cut the TB connector off mine and wired it to a DTM 6 pin anyway so I'm kinda screwed there unless I make another pigtail anyway.

Tracking says it arrived at KPower this morning, I'll give them a call tomorrow if I haven't heard anything.

Few small updates...

Harness showed up from KPower, but the pin retainer was missing so they happily overnighted it to me.

Unfortunately, when I reinstalled it I found I was getting DBW errors with all three of my throttle bodies and the car didn't want to start. Fortunately, I noticed that the RPM wasn't reading while the started was cranking and another fellow KSwap person (Harrison) was willing to sit on Discord with me and multimeter some stuff out.

Turned out that the pins for DBW motor 12v and the 12v for crank angle sensor, cam angle sensor, etc were swapped so that was an easy fix. Car started right up after that, fortunately.

Emile from WinningFormula ended up redoing his TB adapters after Harrison (dude is a legend) talked to him about CNCing them instead of welding. I think he also took some inspiration from the Ichiban adapter I was running and moved to o-rings instead of gaskets. He was nice enough to send me the new revision to test out.

For lack of a better option due to wire length, I'm using a DTM mount stuck in one of the hose clamps to keep the wire strain down.

Another set of RC1 winnings showed up and I added a subtle 8th gen Civic Si decal to the quarter panel

Arizona Motorsports Park went decently, though I didn't drive real well. I won TT5 both days and pipped my previous TT5 record by a tenth on Sunday with a not great lap.

Previous lap was done before I added the cams, so it was 196whp average versus the 205whp now. It was also on brand new Nankang AR1s and ~40f ambient, versus 20 heat cycle RC1s and ~90f ambient.

I ended the day with spring bind when turning the steering wheel, which I more or less attribute to a hilarious ~90mph off that covered the entire car inside and out with what is basically lunar dirt. I think some dirt worked its way into the strut bearing / perch, not a big deal. Also, weirdly, the passenger window regulator stopped working. I've had this happen before but plugging/unplugging the window switch or opening and closing the doors a few times has fixed it but that didn't work this time.

Jon at Shaftworks was nice enough to send me out some replacement strut bearings and Torrington bearings, which I started swapping out yesterday.

I also took the opportunity to swap to some 12mm upper bolts from the stock 14mm or whatever to get some more camber out of the front.

Interestingly, the right coilover had a bent ... whatever the thing that sits on top of the strut bearing and under the camber plate bearing is called ... which I can only assume happened like eight months ago since it is the only time I've dropped the front right hard. I emailed Jon to get a replacement and he got back to me within an hour, so that was super cool too.

Anyway, I have one event at Wild Horse Pass East on May 20th, which I suspect will be the last time NASA AZ sees the track as it will be torn down for casino/freeway expansion. It'll also be the last NASA AZ event until September-October since we don't run during the summer here.

I'm kind of considering going to High Plains in Colorado for a NASA crossover event August 12-13, but we will see since it is a 900mi tow one way. I basically have to go to win the TT5 regional championship since I already missed two events, it'd be nice to meet some of 86 guys up there, and it'd be nice to see a new track for the first time in a while.

Oh man, I must have missed your dirt excursion, that always sucks!

I'm still very much interested in getting back to HPR as well, we can talk about a caravan or something soon.

It was my own dumb fault staying out to slide around on super greasy tires

Yeah! That sounds great to me, curious who else is going to end up making the drive this year.

ah man sorry to hear about the off. How are you liking the shaftworks ? I have met Jon a few times during my time as a Auto xer. Great guy and super smart.

Did you run any other Coilover set before the shaftworks ? if so how do they compare

Yeah, he seems like a good guy, he set up my S2000 OSGiken diff twice (blew one up) and I was super happy with it. I'll send him the diff in the car to be retuned when I get around to changing final drive ratio too.

I'm liking the Shaftworks, but the previous suspension setup on this car was some nice JRZ RS Pros that felt like riding on the clouds over curbs so it isn't really a fair comparison. I have this nagging want to drop the rear spring rate a little bit though.

In an ideal world I would run Xidas, but TT5 rules preclude me from that due to the shaft diameter. I pitted with NASA Greg at Attesa earlier this year and asked him about the shaft diameter rule, to which he basically told me it was an outdated rule that could probably go away but no one had really asked about it before. I'll be requesting it be dropped when the rule suggestions open up at the end of the year.

What makes you say Xidas ? They do look very nice but most people I see are going with MSC from Karcepts. To be honest since I am mosting doing this for fun these days I don't think I am buying anything beyond RCE SS2 or maybe the Tarmac 2s. The days of baller money shocks are in my past but I still like to know what people are using lol

Emilio put in the work geometry and valving wise, and I've been very happy with everything 949/SuperMiata I've had in the past. I also like them being an inverted configuration for the struts versus what most available options are.

I also did see the Karcepts MCS, which is a backup option if the Xidas don't get approved and I have the itch to set money on fire, lol.

Thinking about it now, my Hyperblue had the ProParts 400/400 valved Megans on it and the Shaftworks ride worlds better at 400/600.
