Possible Toyota version of FR-S in NA Lineup??
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-0...d-s-image.html
I don't know if this has already been posted/discussed. Found this link on one of another FT site. Should be some glimmer of hope for some of us older pre-2011 members (since most are avid Toyota fans). Take from it what you will. I have no idea how reliable the news is. Just thought it was worth sharing. Possible higher performance version maybe? Here's the quote in question: "Toyota is considering adding a sports car derived from the FR-S concept to its U.S. lineup, Bob Carter, U.S. group vice president, said today in New York, without elaborating." Don't know if it was just a poor choice of words and that VP meant to simply confirm the FR-S for the NA market, or he really does mean that Toyota is considering a version of their own... |

honesytly, i think if scion drags it down too much, or if it somehow doesn't pull scion from the ashes, then toyota has a responsibility to label it as a supra and sell it in america under the mother label

I think it would be ridiculous to offer the Scion, Toyota AND Subaru in the US market. I would only count on 2 out of 3. And since we pretty much know that the Scion is coming...

I don't see the strategy of doing all 3, they would compete with themselves. Unless the Toyota version offered is in the class of a 370z we're looking at a 28K plus car that 3000 dollar difference between that and Scion FRS 25K doesn't seem plausible.
... what I kinda of imagine now this is way out there, if Toyota was going to put a 3rd one somewhere it would definitely be a Lexus

If they roll out a Lexus, they better not give it the typical boring Lexus styling. Hopefully it looks more like an LFA?
