The new red top is on its way from Amazon. I'll report back if it corrects the flicker. (needed a new battery anyway)

Your kidding right? For once the default search emoticon doesn't apply here, also its not the same the BR-Z DRL is led factory not some retrofit bulb.

Ya, and they never flickered before at idle. This is something new. My red top arrives today. Will install when I have time this weekend and see if it makes a difference.

Very interesting, the battery seems to make sense to me, I'm curious to see if this resolves your issue.

Just in case the battery idea doesn't work, I traced my DRL flicker to the handbrake. The same circuit that lights handbrake on warning light in the instrument cluster switches the DRLs on and off. In my case a very slight movement of the hand brake lever would trip the switch. A small bump, my elbow hitting the lever, any shake at all in the idle and I'd be flashing people like Pee Wee Herman.

The CREE and Phillips are probably the best out there. The end user not choosing the correct Lumens is usually the issue not the LED.

FIXED! The stock LED DRL on my BRZ no longer flicker at idle. Seems it was the OEM battery getting weaker (3.5 years). Not sure why the new battery fixed it , but it did. Some other observations:

Car as expected now starts quicker and you can hear the difference in the sound of the starter.

When driving, voltage readings on my radar detector use to swing between 14.2 to 14.8 (AC is off). Now when driving its a steady 14.6.

When the car was off and I had the accessory on (with heater blowing) the voltage would drop quickly to 11.9-12.0. Now it stays at 12.6.

For those that are interested, got this red top here and it came in 3 days. I did use the tray they provide under the battery to make it the same height of the OEM battery:

You definitely had a problem with the battery. My Radar Detector also tells me voltage (passport), and with the car off, it reads 12.6V.

Interesting..same as mine now with the new battery.

I guess those with the LED DRL can use the flicker sign as an indicator that it is time to replace the battery, before they get stranded. The flicker was very noticeable pulling up against a wall, or you can just look directly at them to see it. (but for those with auto, car needs to be in N for the DRL to stay on)
