Hey man if this is ~400hp <3200 lbs for ~$40k I'll buy it. I don't care how ugly it is.
Pretty sure it is going to be a high hp porker, though, like all the other cars it would be competing with. |

It seems that the 400Z prototype is pretty much going to be the production car (at least according to this report):

They could tinker with trim and some colors (I personally would prefer a body-color roof), but why bother? The car looks good as it is, it seems to be getting a positive reception, so why mess with what looks to be a successful formula? If it really does come out looking anything close to this, and if it's available with a 6 speed stick, and if it's relatively reasonably priced, like $40's and not over the gasp-inducing $50k mark (yeah, I know, a lot of 'if's'), I would be sorely tempted to exchange my BRZ for one. But maybe not as soon as it comes out, and probably not in the first model year. Both because my experiences with Nissan dealers has been that they're the sleaziest of the bunch and I can just imagine the ADM's they're going to try and get away with on the car, and for the usual reasons of avoiding first model year bugs. Every time I've bought a first model year car, even a Japanese one, I've regretted it and swore I'd never do it again. But I do. When you get to be my age, patience is a luxury you can't always afford. |
