Unhappy Issues flashing ECU back to stock

Hello everyone, I am hoping for some community help.

I am trying to flash my ecu back to stock and keep getting "An error occurred while writing to the ECU"
I have tried:
-confirming tablet is up to date with OFM
-reseating cables on both ends to confirm connection is secure, tablet gets power no problem
-started car, drove around, parked, tried again, same thing
-confirming car is in ON position
-keeping all doors closed etc when trying to perform flash
-trying to do real time diagnostics also gives error

Also not able to read ECU info, just gives:
ECU Type
DENSO GT86
Hardware Number
-
Software Number
-
Cali code
-
VIN/SN
-
Additional info
-

Any help is greatly appreciated. I have repeatedly reached out to OFT support and am getting no responses/help in return. their last correspondence with me was almost a month ago now, and they just asked if I have flashed it using any other software - which I have not. the car has never been flashed with anything else. I flashed it from stock a few years ago, and it has been sitting in my driveway for 2 ish years being driven very rarely. Is it possible the battery dying for an extended period could have an effect?

also if anyone has a phone number for OFT support? im desperate at this point

Have you tried to communicate with the car using any other diagnostic device?
